Affordable Telecaster Comparison Sire T7 Squier CV G&L ASAT Tokai ATE & Fender side by side!

I could be splitting hair but I think I like the G&L tone the best.

I’m a hard sell. I finally subscribed because I’ve seen a lot of cool video from this guy now. He’s the kind of guy you take to guitar center with you when you’re buying something new.

If I were you I'd bung the asat pups in the Squier before you sell the asat. I've just bought the 40th anniversary Sq tele from ...on offer at 289€. Just need to upgrade that neck.pup. Hmm ...where can I get a asat neck pup.

Have you had the chance to try the squier telecaster 40th anniversary? I ordered it. 277 euros so not much to say about that, I lacked a tele, really never had one. I see what seems to be the same guitar sometimes as the 40th anniversary, sometimes as the vintage. It is the blonde one with the anodized pickguard and binding. Cheers.

Ive got 3 squier teles, all i did was take the bog standard squier pickups out and replace them with fender tex mex . Bareknuckle brown sugars , and country boys, great guitars, play great , well built, play one of them more than my fenders

I have a Squier Classic Vibe 50's telecaster in butterscotch arriving tomorrow...and...recently received a 30% off offer (brings it down to $349.00 U.S. free shipping included) from Fender for a 40th Anniversary Telecaster Vintage edition...I tried to resist but weakness go the best of me when I saw the color "mocha"...just stunningly rich looking...they are different in several respects and similar in other...in your opinion and comparatively speaking, how different do these 2 guitars play?

There’s something about a double bound Tele that just makes it cool. Just purchased a Squier CV double bound Esquire in Lake Placid Blue. Only think I swapped was the scratch plate. The binding is cream and it was white so I swapped it out for cream.

Just want to say, the Squire CV is a fabulous looking guitar! Absolutely love the olive green...I'd have chosen that one based on color alone...btw, nice review...

I must be in the minority when I say the sire head looks better than the fender. In general tele heads have always been ugly af, but the sire seems like a subtle improvement on that 'chinless' visual

Perhaps that are all different "out of the box". But, I think they are all similar enough that with the proper adjustment you could have them all sounding the same.

What was different about the G&L and the Fender bridge that made you not even compare the Fender bridge?

G&L used to put made in USA pickups on their foreign made guitars. Not sure if they still do.

Great video, I love me some Teles. I wonder if pickup height impacted the Tokai? It seemed the hottest, yet didn’t have the highest readings.

I think the Squier sounds and looks the best of the bunch

Squiers are very common in shops here, and while they look great, I've yet to pick up and try one that wasn't a horribly buzzy mess to play. Maybe just in need of a full setup but most other brands off the shelf I've tried in shops have played fine.

The only experience I have owning a Squier was a jazz bass with a weirdly rubbery neck that wouldn't stay straight until it finally ran out of truss rod adjustment to correct.

I actually liked the Tokai and G&L the best!! 👍

G&L has adjustable pole pieces y'know. Sire is way prettier which is definitely a thing for me. Squier CVs can be a bit of a dice roll but they can be very visually appealing as well. Its just you can get a real stinker, Ive had funky neck shimming, cockeyed nuts, lifted frets. Sires are solid.

I enjoyed the vid… but it just left me muddled on what to get. So much for product videos reviews!

I dont know what it is, but the Fender Player sounded way ahead of the other. I think it all comes down to personal taste, or what you are wanting, accustomed to hear

I just bought a CV after doing some shopping. The Tokai and G&L prices were way too high, some as much as a Fender. I wouldn't call those two 'affordable' IMO. At least not in the States.

I would like to see that new video about Teles. HB , etc
