Absolutely the coolest story... what heritage !
ОтветитьI just saw them Friday night, he and that guitar are absolutely amazing
ОтветитьMarty uses the guitar as an instrument and we all have the joy of listening to it. All too often instruments end up in bank vaults or on a wall . Alas they become pieces of wood with no soul, they only come to life when they are plugged in and played
ОтветитьWhat a shame about Clarence
ОтветитьMarty Stuart is truly a class act. WOW
ОтветитьThat is totally amazing. So sad that Clarence got killed but he lives on in Marty Stuart. Awesome. Thanks for sharing with me!
ОтветитьBefore the Byrds Clarence and Parsons played on a band called Nashville West at a club with the same name in El Monte California. My dad seen them a few times and would marvel how fantastic the house band was. The internet came about, did some research and told dad that he was right as that house band was filled with legends.
ОтветитьIt is truly an Iconic instrument and Marty is fully cognizant of the fact that he is the custodian of a piece of history.
ОтветитьClass act. We could stand to use more of Martys type out there.
Ответитьdefinitely the person to keep that guitar playing
ОтветитьI think Clarence first appearence on Byrds song is Time Between in 1966
ОтветитьI could listen to Marty talk music all day.
ОтветитьMarty, you are the absolute right guy to own the “pull string”. Well done sir.🎸🇺🇸
ОтветитьI didn't know Steve Bannon played...
ОтветитьOne of my favorite stories
Ответитьthis dude is so great
ОтветитьDidnt know Steve Bannon can shred on guitar!🤪🤪🤪
ОтветитьMarty's humble appreciation is what "earned him" that guitar. Of course that is my humble opinion.
ОтветитьLove to see so much honor in this story
Totally agree with Ed Wilson's comment : Talent +Humility+ class = Marty Stuart
Keep it and play it
Scott bannon can play
ОтветитьMarty Stuart.....a guitarists guitarist
ОтветитьWhen I first heard "You Ain't Going Nowhere", I thought to myself what a good pedal steel player the band had. I was pleasantly shocked to learn it was Clarence on his modified Tele. It made me appreciate his playing even more.
ОтветитьRock-'n'-roll cowboy!
ОтветитьGod bless you Marty Stewart, and your journey.
ОтветитьFabulous fabulous history, and a learning curve. Blissful guitar Marty.
ОтветитьI was a young kid when Clarence White brought that guitar in to Clyde Wallich's music city. He was there to demo it for Mr Walllich. He was looking for a way to market the B Bender. Myself & a friend of mine were playing Stratocasters badly out of tune. Clarence couldn't take it anymore & came over & asked if he could show me a tuning technique for Stratocasters. I said sure & he taught me how to tune a Strat using the whammy bar. I still tune my Strat the way he taught me to this day, 60 years later. Mr Wallich came out & Clarence did an amazing demonstration on the B Bender. That was a day I'll never forget !!!
ОтветитьI wanted to comment on what a outstanding class act Marty Stuart is but the post before mine summed it up perfectly. My hats off to you Marty, that guitar could not be in better hands.
ОтветитьHadn’t heard of Clarence W. until Tony Rice gave mention to how great he was on an instructional video. Tony has Clarence’s Martin D-28 that was saved from a fire.
ОтветитьRawhide kid with Lester Flatt in Staten Island like 1978 Marty!
ОтветитьI never knew that. What an awesome story. Thank you Marty for sharing and contributing
ОтветитьCool cat
ОтветитьGreat music history story . Marty is a great humble good guy you can tell
Ответитьi just want to touch it
Ответитьso glad Marty got this guitar
ОтветитьWhat a beautiful guitar.
ОтветитьOutstanding.
ОтветитьMerci, Marty. You can hear his smile in his voice.
Clarence was taken too soon.
BTW there is a clip of Clarence playing with Earl Scruggs. That was part of a film about Earl's quest to stop the Vietnam War by David Hoffmann. I never knew about the Redneck Woodstock, it is well worth a watch.
Roger McGuinn doesn't come off as a nice guy in that film, and Earl cut short his playing session with him.
Clarence’s guitar is exactly where it should be. This man plays it as tastefully and understated as its previous owner. Those who can’t/won’t get past the hair, sparkly clothes, etc. you’re missing out. Marty’s the real deal. He’s put in the hours and work - he always says the only two jobs he’s ever had were Lester Flatt and Johnny Cash. Awesome resume in my book. Should open any door(s).
ОтветитьMarty, you got class and you DO deserve this guitar. We love hearing you play her.
ОтветитьWhat a nice story.
ОтветитьThe guitar definitely belongs with Marty Stuart.
ОтветитьMarty is a good guy and has done so much for preservation of American Country Music history
Ответитьgreat story. i like this guy!
ОтветитьReal music!
ОтветитьI kinda got teary eyed watching that!
ОтветитьObjects can have soul when humanity is poured into them.
ОтветитьHeard him last night in Augusta, GA and the Clarence Tele was magnificent. He and Kenny traded licks back and forth all night, Kenny’s it appears, is a G Bender, rather than a B-Bender. They both operate the same way and the beautiful steel-like tones are unmistakable. What a story .. and what a prize, for Country Music’s #1 Ambassador. Congrats Marty! I’ll give you 2x $1450 whenever you’re ready .. and you can keep the Nudie Suits 😇👍🏻
ОтветитьSuch a beautiful story.
ОтветитьDude is so humble Nobody else in the world should have that guitar but Marty 💕 🎸
ОтветитьRock on Marty.
