It is like you would still swallow water (through mouth or nose), but I don't know. - that's why I fear trying this. Also, you need a pool for this to practice first, sea is harder.

Thank you for this. I see my problem now. I’ve been taking a breath every 6 strokes. Time to learn breathing from both sides!

Well, I still get that panicky feeling of getting caught out of rhythm or wanting to breathe too often. I've tried several techniques to learn how to breath while swimming the crawl but still cannot.

I get tired easily while swimming in crawl, ive read this is because I dont exhale enough but I do exhale underwater, should I swim longer without breathing?

If i exhale almost all my air then dont u think body will sink quickly? How much minimum air should we keep in our lungs or because of speed it doesn't matter?

Does it matter if you exhale underwater out of your nose or mouth?
BTW, I often find the best rhythm breathing every 6 strokes or so.

What a load of crap that beginners breathe 1 in 2 and advanced swimmers 1 in 3. The two aren’t related at all.

For those of you who get that panicky feeling of getting caught out of rhythm or wanting to breathe too often, do a length of the pool front crawl without breathing. This will improve your lung capacity and improve that panic feeling. After a few lengths (with rest between), practice your breathing...you will be less panicky.

I still get a ton of water inside my mouth when ever i try to breathe.. Also I get super exhausted and out of breath really quickly. Changing from bilateral breathing to every 2 strokes helped me a bit but i still got alot of problems with it :/

Hi. Where would you recommend to look when moving the head to the side? Looking at the side of the pool, maybe slightly behind? Just want to avoid lifting my head up at all costs.

I have been taking swimming lessons for the past month and I'm still learning how to improve my front crawl. I have not learned how to side breath yet but I will keep your tips in mind when I get to it.

I've been going about twice a week trying to learn how to swim for the pass 3 weeks. I know how to kick, been praticing breathing thru my nose under water. I'm just having trouble with once in with head down first with nose breathing. when coming up to breathe that's where I get off track with taking that breath thru my mouth. then I lose balance with body which slows down my kicking. I do want to swim, love being in water. I love this demonstration will try to focus and learn by this. thank you
