A couple of years ago i lost interest in this language due to my bad experience at school with my english teacher, but your videos are so funny and interesting that i might get interested again. I used to thought my level was good (because English was one of the few things i was good at) but just realized that i can't hold a real-time conversation without feeling lost or stuttering 😭 anyways, you're a really good teacher, carismatic and smart, thank u for your hard work 🌟

Speaking like a native speaker is a big myth when it comes to teaching another language. It's very problematic because it implies that there is a standard to be followed and reproduced. As teachers of a second language, our main goal is to get our students to communicate effectively by giving strategies to improve their speaking skills and make them capable of using language in a more accurate and confident way. This idea of speaking like a native speaker may also discourage and gives the student a feeling of frustration especially when they don't get that native speaker performance. We need to focus more on fluency rather than using those marketing sentences and promote real learning and make the learner more conscious about their process of learning and low the bar a little. Your content is good, I watched some videos of yours, but I just think it is necessary to reinforce this point obsessively. Speaking English clearly, connected speech, phonetics, and discourse patterns, strategies to sound more natural, and variants of the language are things we can teach and avoid this hysteria of speaking like a native speaker.
