As a bilingual Korean-American, this is cringy. Not because of Conan but because of that Korean “teacher”. She pronounces the Korean words as if an English speaker would pronounce incorrectly. For example, her name isn’t Jin Shiel. It should be Jin Sil, without an H and making it sounds like Shh. The way she says “dirty” is also very unnatural. Next time Conan goes to Korea, he/his team should look for a certified Korean teacher, not someone that works at language exchange cafe in ShinChoen.

To play devil's advocate, if this wasn't just totally scripted, isn't Conan's behavior highly inappropriate, even for a comedy bit? She's either genuinely uncomfortable or the greatest actor in the world

There is nothing you could tell me to suggest otherwise that everyone in this cafe were paid actors and this is a set because unless they're working on their thesis for their PHD from Cambridge, I don't think anyone would be able to focus on anything other than what is happening with the weird ginger man.

I think this short clip says more about Korean culture than a college course. I've heard Korean and Japanese teachers are strict but this is probably the most serious woman I've ever seen. I hope she's acting and not all Korean women are like her. Conan is just kidding but she can't handle it and feels insulted with every look, every finger movement. And what's really weird is that there school kids are still being beaten with a love stick. It might be fun to watch for few minutes but imagine having her as your teacher for years. A teacher with dominatrix behavior is tasked by the rulebook with forming children into economically useful robots and answering every little mistake or little deviation only with severity and punishment.
