So that means, it's not good to mix Resume with cover letter or we have to put the same keywords in cover letter?

you have to write it for three human beings and a robot.

It is ridiculous that we have to play these games in order to get someone to look at a job application. This explains so much about why I constantly see people occupying positions for which they are supremely unqualified, while the well-qualified ones are never even called for an interview.

I have a question to you sir. I was worked for 3 and a half years in accounting field. Thereafter I have around 6 years of gap for my studies. Right now I am working as an accounts teacher in an online platform. I want to join the accounting or auditing as a professional. So my question is can I give a accounting professional as my title in the resume??Presently I am working as a teacher that is why I am asking it.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. However, it is sometimes not feasible to look and pick keywords from every job description because it's a lot competitive while applying jobs, as I'm based in India, and I have to apply 100 jobs at times.

ATS is a farce! One of the worst things that has been hurled at the working class. Great video though.

Can’t you just add in all the key terms but put them in white font and that way the stupid keywords don’t show up in your résumé increases the match right in the ATS

Hi Don. I live in the UK but usually work all over the world. What version of English should i use to deal with ATS. UK or USA. does it matter ??

No wonder my state has so many jobs on offer, nobody can pass the robot and human ats test! I have to laugh when I hear 👂 on tv 📺 when employers complain about not filling their jobs. One thing they neglect to mention is the fact that there’s conditions to obtaining their offered job. And the clowns 🤡 can’t see it! So in the end they scream 😱 for importing overseas labour to fill the jobs with no ats test! Now you see why the local is pissed! One rule for the local another rule for the import!!!!!

I agree with most of the comments about the ATS as I feel that we should be based on our merit and ability rather than a few kew words to help us stand out. I used Sizigi in my application process so I could show what I could truly do!

A question if I may.... I found a job that I believe I would be a great match, but I think this ATS rejected my application because I didn't tweak it accordingly, so no real human had a look at it (my guess as I received a rejection email with 'from no-reply). Would it be wise to tweak it and resend it?

this is why it's so hard to get a job! 75% of applications are screened out by the ATS before it even gets to HR and then the recruiter only looks at it for 6-7 seconds!

What about the "Core Skills" section. That's basically just a list of keywords. Is that OK? If so, how many before it's considered "stuffing"?

Don Georgevich - Thanks, Don! I submit a resume as a candidate file, often. A few weeks or months later, I find a posting at that company where I built a candidate profile. I will upload my tailored keyword resume in the application. I wonder which resume they use...?
Does your candidate profile have you in a certain “bucket”?? Example: You have been an analyst but also done HR. You’re stuck in the analyst candidate pipeline, but now you’re applying for the HR position. Have you shot yourself in the foot by creating a candidate profile?

Thank you very much, those are very good complemantary types. As I come from France, I don't believe we use the ATS as oftenly than the anglo-saxons countries. It made me realize ATS might be an issue for my resume, only got 1 one answer on more than 70 applications ! From the moment I fit my CV to the software "tastes", I receive way way more positives answer .
