Really nice, work, really good explanation, sources included etc., excellent video. Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьWhat about using a Quadrature Sampling Emitter as a Modulator LO will have to be 4x wanted signal frequency.
ОтветитьNo disrespect towards your creativity, but would you make one more for purchase?
ОтветитьI wonder what points you jumped? I wanna build my own but I don't wanna have to track down thise points since im nowhere near smart enough.
ОтветитьCan you do the external feedback loop trick? I love the Minimoog sound, especially when it overdrives.
Ответитьthis not per se manufacturing tolerance but rather pair matching is a good point to take away from this, This also reminds me of things like the TR808 use of out of spec transistors that they had a limited supply of. Good job sounds great. So where are the other 5 I am sure you could leverage your 300k iews to make your money back :)
ОтветитьThe only flaw is the lack of wood on the synth!
Have you considered doing volt per octave control instead of MIDI so it works with modular gear?
Really great job. Sounds incredible.
all we have to do is complete a master degree ? easy pizzy.... 👍👍
ОтветитьVery cool. What type of wire did you use for wiring(with different colours)? How to google them
Ответитьthat sounds great! Good quality finish to the entire project.
ОтветитьI feel like this wasn't your first video. Vey well done and an amazing job on the minimoog. I have watched this many times and want to try this one day.
ОтветитьNext step would be to control it with cv and gate instead of midi.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this project with us and being so transparent about the process. I'm a 3rd year EE major hoping to carve out my own path in audio/music hardware and software. This project is what I now plan on doing in my free time during my next co-op semester in the spring. I also play a lot of shows in my University's local scene so I can't wait to be able to pull up to gigs with a humble looking but deadly sounding homemade synth!
ОтветитьI want one for Christmas 😂 ... well done! 🇲🇹
Ответитьboog's moogs
ОтветитьHello, there. First of all, kudos for your craft.
One question... are the PCB designs updated with the fixes you did?
Hi Ryan, Could we contact you in some way?
Best
very impressive
ОтветитьYou can actually buy matched pairs in IC packages. They're "super-matched" because they're monolithic, and on the same die. I haven't priced any for awhile, but I think they're cheap (not as cheap as a couple of 2N3904s, though). I hope this helps. Love the old Moogs, and PAIA still is in business, I think.
ОтветитьBig up!
ОтветитьYou are a fucking legend for this. I’m gonna do it.
Ответитьwould be amazing to see more content in this vein from you my friend. you almost made it seem like something anyone could do hahah. but looking into it you've downplayed your knowledge and skill level in the way you've put this video together. even a follow up video of how the diy minimoog is holding up now would be cool! take care of yourself and have a nice day! big respect for undertaking this project and completing it , no easy feat or moog wouldn't be selling these synths for $5,000+
ОтветитьYou'r mad! Kudos!
ОтветитьYo man that's one of the most impressive and inspiring things I've ever seen. You're a freakin genius, congrats. Where can I contact you?
ОтветитьYour first is actually clearly a succesful Brazillian cuica synth
ОтветитьYou did it you crazy s.o.a.b
ОтветитьI have here an Akai Midi Controller, can I just connect it to the synthesizer instead of building your midi controller? Thank you!
ОтветитьNo fuse and/or capacitors between the transformer and power switch?
ОтветитьI try not think what will happen once one or more of these components fail... who are you going to locate them... it's a nightmare.
ОтветитьMate, subscription WELL earned. You should be proud of what you have achieved. I've wanted to build a synth for 40+ years and never had the knowledge or resources to do so, love what you have done.
ОтветитьI'm currently taking an electronics course because I am interested in building tube amps and possibly synths or effects devices. How much do you think you'd have to charge for one of these to make it worth the time and parts?
Also, how do you like the Bugera? I need a tube amp and I'm poor so I've tacitly looked into them. I need something worthwhile that I can abuse a little more regularly. My own amp is a 1950s harmophone Super 180 (rebranded Magnatone 213 for a suitcase organ company). It has real tube vibrato and nothing else sounds right to me anymore. That amp is probably the reason I'm looking into learning this stuff. I'd love to steal its schematics and make a few tweaks, and possibly make some amps as a side job.
Gaining a masters degree only helps with knowledge... wrong to say experience..as thats only through time...
ОтветитьYou did something unique! Be proud of yourself, dude.
ОтветитьThat's fucking awesome
ОтветитьDude, you're mad! And i mean it with the utmost respect! =D This project is amazing! Greetings from Prague
ОтветитьThanks, today it's cheaper build this synth.
ОтветитьMoog got 192 people to give this a thumbs down lol, Great project !
Ответитьway to stick it out man !
ОтветитьThis is pretty dang awesome. That was a ton of work and awesome work on figuring out how to make the boards work.
ОтветитьEpic project dude. Well executed!
ОтветитьHonestly if you wanted you could pull an Uli Behringer and sell these for a fraction of what minimoog costs, while making a profit.
ОтветитьIncrível!
ОтветитьIncredible work… you really could design incredible synths of your own
ОтветитьSo Jealous of your skills. How is the synth holding up 2 years later? Still amazing?
ОтветитьHi, how are you? Nice job! I have the same gerbers, but I'm not finding the values/where to put the components. Also, I didn't find the connection between the boards. Where did you get it?
ОтветитьI just watched the review of korg nts-3 and i was curious to search for some "OtHeR😂" diy synths (i gues u get what i meant by "diy")
And i clicked on this video.
This is NUTS!!! (in a good way)
Awesome video. Just tons of research, hours hours of your work. And we can watch it like its some easy diy hacks!
Brilliant.
I'm sure it's not about moog for 700$, cos time is real money. But both ways, sounds expensive af 😅
Wish u the best!
