I wish Tumblr still had those stupid ads. I feel like its normal ads and why they arent super targeted, its not "Sleep With Soap". Or its just the Netflix blog spamming you with whatever their property is. You can block the blog but it doesnt make the ads go away.😢

i participated in the sexygirlmax2019 arg. the teleportation ritual was... it's really easy to feel alienated from the world, from other people, from yourself. but that night, it was one of the deepest moments of interconnectedness I'd felt in a long time. thinking about it still makes me tear up a little. im happy to say im still friends with people i met through the arg and even met one of them in person last year. unironically changed my life for the better.

I'm watching this to unwind from work, and just wanted to say that your videos are so lovely and nostalgic and calming. This made me smile and feel more hopeful about life, just remembering all these little silly moments of internet history.

I can confirm that Tumblr prom was a thing, and I remember my best friend posting a picture of himself in his suite and also reblogging his “date’s” photo. I can’t believe I was not only never asked to my high school prom, but I was also never asked to tumblr prom… 💔

I was a senior in high school during Tumblr prom :'). I remember some people would draw themselves "stick figure style" and be like "Omg guys do you like my prom dress?" or "I'm over here at prom," with some type of scenario happening.

Verbal contracts win in court in my country lol. Don’t agree to something on paper or word unless you agree with it full stop.

I’ve been on Tumblr for years, and I never actually knew that about the Rabiesexual movement. It’s pretty sad that it was actually something wholesome.
Interestingly enough if I had encountered the original meaning I would have related to it, kinda.
When I was in 5th grade I was bullied by pretty much all the boys in my class because they pretended I had a disease (the [my name] Touch) for the whole school year, anyone or anything I touched was “infected”. I tried ignoring it but it ended in like spring when I had enough and either hit or bit (I can’t remember) one of the ringleaders, then cried to the vice principal. It was hard because I had no friends in my class (the one who was going to be in my class moved away over the summer and we were both sad) and was being way too clingy with the friends I did have (in another class) which made them uncomfortable.
I didn’t know I was autistic or nonbinary (I did know about my ADHD tho) yet, and I don’t think that’s what made me the target, but idk.

Reading Cole Sprouse's tweets from when he left tumblr, in retrospect I think he makes a good point in an unclear muddled way. Tumblr users in the 2010s were teenagers who based a large part of their identity around their parasocial relationships with celebrities which made them a very exploitable group of people, it's good for someone to remind them that these celebrities they idolise aren't their friends, they're strangers and any interaction they have is inherently an unequal one because one person puts the other on a pedestal.
