Working for Free: It seems to me there is a difference between someone approaching you for free work in exchange for nebulous future benefits, and you identifying a need and offering to meet it for no charge. The former rarely pans out, in my experience.

Many of the books I love the most were written by people who could give a flying toad about the reader and wrote entirely fro themselves (Clarice Lispector and a long list of others). They may not have gotten rich but some of them did alright financially anyway. He is right anyone can do what he does if they invest the time. One can analyse what people consume and why and keep doing more and more of that. Nothing wrong with it but it all gets stale eventually and so many people chasing the formulaic to be successful gives me concern for society.

This is so much golden information here. I'm not even a writer - this is universal.

what is ghost writing ?

This may be one of the greatest podcasts I have ever listened to. Nicolas has made more breakthroughs in my ways of thinking in terms of generating content, perspectives on money, how to “sell” products and services and so much more. Thank you so much.

I’m sure I’m going to listen to this podcast many more times in the future, and take detailed notes in the process. Ali asks such good counterpoints and questions to prompt nuanced answers from Nicolas. This podcast will change how I look at life and business forever.

I am wondering how AI will change the opportunities mentioned here. Ghost writing for example seems to be something AI can do frankly . Ok - it's all great advice but for the sales copy writing. I have been in the hitech marketing business for over 20 years and I can tell you that it is very hard to accurately measure outcomes from content put out or landing pages and it also depends on the sales cycle - so you may not see outcomes for the immediate short term - sometimes not until months later. And most businesses - unless you are a small business owner or new startup - prefer not to pay in equity - as they need to reconcile their books each quarter. But the scale at which enterprises are willing to pay is quite mind boggling when you compare it to a small business or individual starting a business. Getting paid per asset isn't so bad in that context and if you do well, you can expect to be given more gigs in the future.
