Suzie, your explanation of the runwalk method is so good. I like how you said it could help those who are injury prone or mentally can’t always go the distance. I have used the run walk method especially when I started running and if I my clients want to start running for the first time. I definitely used it when I did half marathons. It would help me keep focus because I do get bored when running long distances.

Suzie, truly a great video!

i do the Jeff Galloway run/walk/run for the last 40 years. I did everything from marathon to 100 miles and 24 hour races that way. Now i do it more than ever before, mainly because of my age. I run about 65 miles per week year round and do probably 60 % of my runs that way. 40 % i just run
edit: for your information......after your NYC marathon we had a conversation in the comment section of the race video. At that time i did write my comments under my real name of Thomas Fritz......i changed that because of the amount of negativity i received, when i made the slightest critical remark. I restarted with a new name and try to either say something positive or nothing....constructive critics now only when asked for my honest view of a situation

Great video, Suzie! I'll do run-walk on warm humid summer days when there's no other way to keep my heart rate under control. Otherwise I avoid it for the simplest of all reasons, that I don't enjoy it and I only do this for fun. I'm not looking to fight any holy wars though, or get into metaphysical debates about what is or isn't really running. You've had awesome results, and I congratulate you on your successes with it!

Great video... It's so important for runners to know that walk breaks are not just allowed, but very useful as a tool in longer races. A short rest from hard running can go a long way in letting you move faster for longer. Well done Suzie!

Great info! I’ve set PBs before using run walk, and I think more runners need to know that it’s an option!

After 15 seconds of walking I'm ready to run again. I never have run much over 7 miles though. I bet I'll want that full minute when I try a 10 miler soon

Great video.
I have used the run walk run method to train for my first half marathon trail race, in that time i used to ran just like 10k with struggle, so no way i could run that trail, so i used RWR method to complete the race. It worked perfectly!

Great info Suzie. I've jeffed before and it worked quite well - I have definitely been stuck in the mindset that walking is a bad thing when running and its something I've had to remind myself to stop doing quite frequently.

Thank you for breaking this method down! This is the method I've been sticking to but worried there were more effective ways. However this made me feel better using it. Thank you :)
