GOOD JOB! THANK YOU
ОтветитьThanks for the very comprehensive and logically clear instruction. I bought Caldigit TS4 half a year ago and haven't made full use of its power (like installing DisplayLink driver for my Mac Studio M1 Ultral for 5 displays). I have gone through lots of videos regarding USB hub and this is the most helpful one.
Ответитьwhich hub would you recommend for djing?
ОтветитьQuelle vidéo ! Insertions, animations, qualité de l’image, bravo pour ce travail immense !
Ответитьwhich one is the best for music production? thank you
ОтветитьEmbarrassed: I have a 2015 MacBook Pro which has its own PD. So finding an adapter for my utechsmartHub 12 has been a problem. Any suggestions?
ОтветитьGreat video! i really did help the choosing process... Now, a stupid question, but just to be sure, can i leave the hub permanently connected to the mac? My question is, is it safe to use it as a "docking station" in order to use my Macbook as a permanent desktop PC with an external display?
ОтветитьVery informative! VGA recommendation, please! Thank you
ОтветитьWhy doesn't apple just do away with USB ports entirely
ОтветитьBiggest issue with the non-powered hubs is if they have independent pass-through charging for devices and especially phones. They often do not list those specs.
ОтветитьHey there,
I totally get what you mean! Finding the right USB hub or dock for a Mac can be a real challenge with all the options out there. Thanks for breaking down the specs and sharing your recommendations. It's super helpful to have someone like you share their experience and insights. 👍
I'm definitely looking into the Oracle six-in-one Hub you mentioned in the lower budget options. That 100 Watts power delivery at that price is impressive! And your explanation of USB 3.0 vs. USB 2.0 is crystal clear.
I appreciate you also delving into mid-tier and premium hubs. The CalDigit TS4 sounds like a beast, but as you mentioned, there are some more budget-friendly options like the Element Hub or the TS3 Plus that can also do the job well.
Thanks for the great breakdown, and I'll keep an eye out for Thunderbolt 5 in the future. Looking forward to your next tech-related upload!
Does 4K@60 translate to 1440@144?
ОтветитьThe problem I have is not enough usb-c ports. Don’t care about USB A need C. Even Ankers 13-1 don’t provide enough USB-C. I have connected to mine 3 external Hard drives, the other day my Mac-mini shut down two of the drives for drawing to much power. Could I take the Anker and plug a usb c hub into one of the USB-c ports and get around the power issue?
ОтветитьI'm consistently surprised by these hubs not having mostly usb c ports. Especially because I don't use anything that has usb A anymore
ОтветитьI plan to use external hard drives for Time Machine, photo and video storage. My question is, if one of them requires plug-in power, will I have any problems using any of the hubs you mentioned? The other, smaller one, is a Samsung ssd. Thanks for you video and reply.
ОтветитьRequest for suggestion. When I’m mobile, my 2017 MBP has only 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports. I want to have a dongle/hub that has an UHS II reader (photography), and a gen 2 A port and C port. PD would be a bonus. I just need to ability to transfer RAW files to the MBP to show the “quick n dirty” to clients, as well as have the flexibility to plug in an USB A device. I have multiple USB 3 A thumb drives to give clients jpgs (I shoot in both)
ОтветитьUSB hubs are highly recommended for users of the 24" M3 or M1 iMac. Just make sure your USB hub connects to USB-C or have a USB-C to USB-A adapter ready.
ОтветитьNewBe here. Great info, but I have a question. My work setup is 1 HP laptop with a single usb3 port. When I'm in the office I plug in a usb3 cable supporting 2 monitors and power. I'm looking for a inline hub I can plug into my laptop and plug the usb3 work cable into it allowing me to continue using the dual monitors and power provided, but giving me options for a wireless keyboard and or wireless mouse; both usb2 dongle bluetooth types. Again, great into and thanks in advance for any advice...
ОтветитьCansa mucho escucharlo hablar. No hace pausas. Parece que la voz está forzada. Tuve que detener el video y dejar de verlo. Lástima. Me interesa las revisión
ОтветитьHallo, have switched from 2015 iMac to a new setup. 13 inch MacBook Pro with a studio display. As I am into photography I need a card reader, 1 have a 1 terabyte external drive and another 2 terabyte drive for backup, plus a port for the studio display monitor. I don’t have a huge amount of cash to splash. Therefore any advice gratefully received. Thank you
ОтветитьIs the Orico hub works with usb mic?
Ответитьdo you have to talk so fast?
Ответитьis this advisable to be use on Ipad?
ОтветитьAny recommendation on an adapter to use a Focusrite audio interface with a MacBook M1? For no latency when recording audio
ОтветитьI am searching for a hub with 2.5gbe but every product looks very scammy except for Belkin's one at 110usd which looks kind of expensive to me.
I'm currently searching for reviews for Orico's 30$ 2.5gbe hub but I can't find any, does anyone know if the 2.5 gbe works with apple silicon? I've seen reviews that are conflicted on whether it would work or not
Could you revisit this with iPhone 15 Pro?
ОтветитьThank you for the video
Can you give us a suggestion for a hub they can confidently handle a 4K capture card input, 1080p output over HDMI, inputs from rodecaster Duo, and hopefully power delivery
Nice video, helpful to understand the price ranges.
ОтветитьJust wondering: if the MBP original adapter is 98w, but the hub’s PD is only 80w, what will happen is one uses the hub alone to charge the MBP? Will it run out of battery eventually?
ОтветитьDo all of these work on the M2 MacBook Air? I am looking for a way to display a monitor (not 4k) without reducing the number of USB-C ports as I would need more than one (so a USB-C to HDMI wouldn't work). I looked it up and unless I'm mistaken the Anker 543 and 555 are incompatible with my device. Am I wrong? Sorry for the inconvenience but if someone could help that would be much appreciated.
ОтветитьThe deal breaker on the Orico hub(s) is that the HDMI-4K port is only 30Hz.
ОтветитьCaldigit is out of business and every one is still selling their devices without letting anyone know that there is no support available.
ОтветитьKiller color grading!
ОтветитьThis some nice editing boii
ОтветитьWhat’s a good cheap hub for a desk setup as I want to use my MacBook as my desktop? I just can’t find anything with a long usb c cable
Ответитьyour speech cadence is aweful
ОтветитьCan recommend which I can buy for Macbook pro rentina 15 inch late 2013
ОтветитьI just want a dual HDMI hub without DisplayLink so I can have 2 external displays on my M2 Pro 14 inch. Can you recommend one?
ОтветитьThanks for the suggestions. CharJenPro ones fits all my needs.
ОтветитьHey Kyle. Im looking for a usb hub, to connect to my work laptop at home. im planning on useing it with my 4k screen, plug in my various accessories, mouse, keyboard, ipad pro etc, nothing more fancy than that. Its a lenovo thinkpad i use for work. Im looking at a anker 322 5-1 usb-c hub with 4k. At work i have the lenovo dock, works fine, can charge and everything from the dock. Could you ontop of your head remember one you would pick for this application?

ОтветитьI bought a new M1 MacBook Air and then a dongle to increase connectivity. A few months later the Mac wouldn’t boot up, took it to Apple and thought nothing of answering their questions. Apple returned the laptop in 20 minutes saying the cost of the repair would be more than the purchase price. I was shocked and they calmly explained that I had used a third party USB port device which had damaged the laptop, and that I needed to contact Anker, the adapter manufacturer for resolution. Anker denied the claim, and I have a $1,199 doorstop. My point: DO NOT BE HONEST WITH APPLE AS THEY ARE LOOKING FOR ANY REASON POSSIBLE TO DENY WARRANTY CLAIMS. 20 minutes was enough time to read the ticket, blame the dongle and deny the claim.
ОтветитьHow does this work with magsafe charging, you'll need to have a separate chord for the power supple I guess. Is that safe?
ОтветитьHi Kyle, thank you for the many helpful videos. I have three external hard drives connect to a MacBook Pro. The drives occasionally randomly eject (which can be very frustrating when working on a file / video located on those drives). They are currently connected via a cheap Certified Data USB C to 3 x USB A connector. I'm wondering if this random ejecting of drives would be solved by a USB Hub - or if it is some sort of iOS issue. Have seen others with similar problems on some forums, but no clear solutions posted. Details: 2017 13 inch MacBook Pro running Monterey 12.6.1, WD MyBook 12 TB ext drive, Seagate 10 TB ext drive, LaCie rugged 1 TB SSD. All drives Journaled HFS+. Thanks!
ОтветитьI have MacBook Pro with magnet charging thing what do I do?
ОтветитьThank you!!!
ОтветитьJust to check I have a Selore docking station and purchased a Dell Monitor USB C. when I plug the USB C in the dock it doesn't work. The monitor only works when I directly connect to my PC (surface). Am I right in thinking that some USB C ports in docks are not for monitors and they just charge for example?
