Is Automa compatible with fan-made expansions?

This is fantastic! I found this game from a review on 3 minute board games cos it sounded perfect for my gaming group, but of course one of the first videos to show up is a Mike Kelley solo variant!
After a couple games, I added a legendary difficulty (Automa deck is just the normal 10 card starting deck).
Also worth noting that some of the centre deck combinations are easier than others vs the Automa (those with insane outcast or discard abilities help a lot against the Automa).

Can you do a clank solo rules also? Cuz obviously you get things done like no one else in solo solilutions

Excellent solo mode! Bought the latest edition for that reason. Tried it out tonight and loved it!

Add me to the 'bought this years ago, played it once, and with no solo, it has sat on the shelf (with unopened expansion) ever since' crowd. I've got it set up now and will be using your solo rules. Looking forward to it, cause I am a huge fan of drow, so the game is just a joy to look at and think about.

Your solo rules as well as the new edition having all expansions (which didnt exist in German) included is what's just gonna make me finally order that game....NOW! :-)

Hey, awesome work! I really enjoy it. Quick questions:

1) Do we count Insane Outcast negative points in the automa deck for its score?
2) What is the trigger of the game end?
a) not enough cards to fill up the market for the next round
b) not even 1 card to fill up the market for the next round
3) When the trigger happens both player and automa do one more action round?
4) I feel like the market deck finishes so quickly (thus the game), so that I cannot enjoy fully all the cards I acquired. Any changes?

Just wandering if I used half deck aberration. The deck will be pretty weak since automa has no cards in hand to discard....and does the demon deck you add.more insane outcast cards to the automa deck?

This was even better than I expected, I will buy probably only to give that solo mode a try, no one I know is going to want to play this with me xD Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

Just played this variant. It was excellent! Id say it was so good that id say it’s worth buying for solo alone (but I also love Tyrants.) thank you and great job! I was a bit confused by priorities a few times (but it’s pretty easy to intuit), and playing on easy we really blasted through the deck, but obviously simple solution of don’t play on easy next time!

I have this in my basket, too.
I am musing over card sleeves as I understand that the card stock is quite light and will need a thicker sleeve to give them a bit of heft. At 340 cards and the BGG reference only citing sleeves that fit I might leave that until later,...

Really good deckbuilder. Not just mindless buying cards and the game on the map adds alot to the game. I like deckbuilders with something els to do then just play cards. Trains and the quest of el dorado are also a good examples of deckbuilding with a map. Or the recently game dune:imperium.

Two great news:
1.) The new edition will also be released in German shortly....so far there was no German expansion. Also being much cheaper having only markers to me is a plus.
2.) Finally a solo mode which is THE trigger for me to get the game.

Does your solo logic really make every automa action 100% clear or is there more or less situations in which you decide how a real opponent would do?
I'm asking because I had checked all solo modes for Lords of Waterdeep to create a better version on my own. Still there are situations in which it leads to "do what a real opponent would do".

One of the best deck-building games. I’ve considered making a coop or solo mode myself. Good stuff.
