Toyota Navigation System Update for 2023

Had to remove it from my truck as I kept shutting off my radio
Was just about to change out my radio when I came across an article saying that this card could be the problem
Wondering if anyone else had the same experience %?

I can't even imagine the Toyota Dealer wanting to charge $200.00 + for this upgrade. Am I wrong. I bet this is why you can't get the automotive mft repair manuals anymore

I have a 2020 highlander. Apparently Toyota changed everything so that now you have to buy a subscription from them. The dealership said it would cost 2grand to install a nav system. Has anyone installed a card in a 2020 or newer Toyota?

I have a 2018 Canry which isn't on the list however I just received notification that Scout GPS will no longer be available after Oct 2023 do you have any suggestions on what I can use for navigation for my model?

What is the OE0 # on the back of the new card? That will tell you what update it is. I think the newest version is OE082

I have a 2011 Sienna and it has 2017 U99
It doesn't have any further update past U9A

I don't want to pay 250 dollars for a DVD for 1 year

The system is a Gen 6

I don't know what GEN the TF card is

If the newer vehicle has the same program, it may accept the files from the TF if they are loaded onto a DVD

My main idea was to replace the radio

I have a 99 Avalon and it didn't have any GPS or BT or DVD, and I bought a totally awesome aftermarket 300 dollar system and I love it more than any other GPS system I've ever had and I wanted to put it into the Sienna as well but it looks like the Sienna radio is linked to a whole bunch of critical operations of the vehicle and I'm worried if I take it out and replace the radio a lot of components in the car will no longer work or be accessible

I found that almost every aftermarket GPS radio is running off Android and or Windows Embedded OS. And you literally can load any Android system and app into the radio and you can run any GPS program or any program providing you have a big enough card for the files.

I actually modified another Toyota with an SDR and it has a full mode all band frequency analyzer scanner radio app.
That was a complicated project that took over 2 years, but I found out a lot about the way these are all using open source OS and retail GPS programs from companies like NAVTEK and Garmin. You can actually record custom audio files for the GPS and just replace the files and have your voice or any voice you want say what you want instead of the default recorded words. It is a geek thing but not anything I want to do. I just wanted an up to date GPS.
My area has had 12 new neighborhoods built in the last 4 years. None of them are in the 2019 DVD.
It is a big deal because they have dozens of roads, over 1200 homes and none of it in the DVD map version available

Toyota said they are no longer supporting the 2011-2014 models, 10 years is the limit
So, I am going to have to do something and I would like to keep it stock if I can.

I bought my sd card from toyota and tried installing. It get to installing 2 of 13 then stops.. tried 3 times.. my gps maps info is 6/8/13.. maybe to many updates at once?

If someone could tell me how to block/disable my GPS on my 2018 HiLux I'd be very grateful...your GPS will be used by the undesirable governments to see how many miles/klm you have traveled as there will be a tax/bad social credit score on the more distance you travel the more you'll pay, Its been sold as a great addition to your new vehicle but in fact lts all to do with the new green world lies they are telling you.

Mine gives the error of “cannot find SD card” but I followed every instruction.

Once I make my update, do I loose all my saved places and map preferences? I don't see this addressed in other comments.

I just bought a used 2019 and it has the original Nav on it. While I would like to upgrade, the technical side of me wonders why I can't just download an ISO image of an SD card to do this?! Also, isn't there supposed to be an app? (Toolbox but it doesn't detect my SD card despite me being able to access the files from my computer)
