I don't agree with this. 3000 will be a lot more like 1000 than 2000. Humans will go into a permanent pre-industrial civilization, if not in the 21st century, likely by the end of the 22nd.

In a million years (probably even a few hundred years- less, if we're particularly unlucky) we'll look like our constituent atoms, because that's all that will remain of us.
