Factually wrong. Was NOT an American invasion of Sicily but following on from Operation Torch in North Africa it was the 1st Army although mainly American also comprised British and other nationalities.

The officer found in the sea was actually a homeless British man who died because he ate a oiece of bread that had rat poison on it,sat outside to get rid of rats. This dead homeless man played a big part in the Allies win. Remember. Franco was a Nazi sympathizer even though Spain was Neutral
