Comparing the performance of Intel's previous generation 14nm Kaby Lake-U Core i5-7300U processor to the latest 10th generation, 10nm, Core i3-1005G1 in Maxon Cinebench R15.
Although the closest comparison to the Intel Core i3-1005G1 would be its predecessor, the Intel Core i5-8130U, which matches it on turbo frequency and L3 cache size, the i5-7300U is a close match, with a 100MHz higher turbo frequency, but a smaller 3MB L3 cache vs. the 4MB of the i3-8130U and i3-1005G1.
In this test, the i3-1005G1 performs approximately 11% faster than the i5-7300U in both single and multi-threaded tests.
