For some time I was pondering how this game fits into the timeline while preserving what happens in HL2 and Episodes.

Then I thought that in the original timeline, Alyx DID rescue thr G-Man, but then forgot about it because the G-Man told her to “forget all this”

It was until Gordon went against the G-Man’s control that the G-Man went back and changed that part

I wonder how headcrabs taste cause I would 100% want to try one just to see

You know what I appreciate about valve? Sure they could have made a half assed half life game VR exclusive and people would have just eaten it up and bought the vive and all the VR stuff for it anyways. Instead, they created an experience that really is enhanced by doing it in VR. Its really cool to me that they actually made getting VR for it worthwhile and don't just shell out.

From your experience of this game, the scripting looks fantastic, things like the last bullet killing the last enemy and stuff like that. You definitley could have failed but it's like the game put it just on the edge of 50% fail or 50% pass so it requires more actual focus than other sections. They updated things and added to the story.

Ngl, as the credits rolled when I first played this, I had to sit down because I was crying/laughing too hard. I stopped for the post credits scene, and then proceeded to keep crying and laughing hysterically. I can't describe how amazing it felt to finish a new Half-Life game after 13 years.

You know what rimmy, I wish you tired Entropy:Zero I think you would like it, both part 1 and 2.

I’m convinced that Valve plans to use Gordon and Alyx as protagonists for desktop and VR half life games respectively. Gordon is the classic protagonist, for classic style gameplay, and Alyx is the novel protagonist, for novel VR gameplay.

honestly, if hl3 was in vr too i wouldnt be mad, imagine how nice it would feel to actually swing the crowbar and bash someones head in

you mentioned S.T.A.L.K.E.R. there, look up into the radius vr, its roadside picnic (which some of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games are based on) in VR and it is INCREDIBLE

There it is Half-Life 3... it doesn't have a 3 in the name, but that literally moves the story forward so imo it IS HL3.

Well they had to change the timeline because they couldn’t get Gordon Freeman’s voice actor back.

That bit where Rimmy is trying to melee zombies is probably the whole reason this game is based around Alyx instead of Gordon: Valve doesn't know how to make VR melee combat and real Gordons only use the Crowbar.

I always thought g-man was gorden because they both have black hair gorden freeman and g-man's names are pretty close and they both have square shaped heads, the only thing g man doesn't have is a goatee

Technically Valve didn’t progress the story even after all this time.

They just retconned HL2’s ending, which feels like a massive red flag for the rest for the series, retconning this hard usually never ends well.

"It took you 7 hours to take over the entire planet how is this taking so long?"

Even the combine have shitty customer service.

Did you know you can load your gun eject the magazine and shoot the bullet and alyx will say to Russell I'm out of ammo and he will give you more ammo and you can keep doing it so essentially you can get infinate ammo at the very start so you don't have to worry about pistol ammo for the rest of the game

That's a surprisingly massive change and push for the HL story. Even at the end with them handing the crowbar over is like a great sign of them feeling confident enough to continue the story again
