I can't think of anyone who has forgotten "867-5309." And I can't hear "Tarzan Boy" without remembering the Listerine commercial which used this for a soundtrack.

I grew up in the 80s, and these songs were timeless classics. The 80s was the best decade for music. These songs still stand out as classics in their own right.

Quarterflash and Baltimora were my faves back then - thank you for bringing them back. All great tunes and selections. The 80's were definitely the peak of music. Though Cutting Crew is pretty awesome too....surprised you didn't mention "One for the Mockingbird" - another catchy song by them.
As for one you missed - Shattered Dreams by Johnny Hates Jazz

Synth makes my skin crawl. Then again, I'm more of a 70s guy. The diversity of sounds are unmatched. The 80s all sound the same.

Don Johnson's hit was great for the burger industry. "Hardees. I'm looking for a Hardees." Now, listen to it again. Getting hungry for a Frisco Burger yet? Or maybe it's "Arby's. Lookin' for an Arby's..." Now I want a "Beef 'n' Swiss." Then came Taco. What was next, doughnuts? Well yes. In every disaster movie featuring LA, CA, the massive fiberglass doughnut from Randy's Doughnuts, would always break loose and roll down the street. It's classic.
