I thought the Quarterflash - Harden my Heart song was Pat Benetar this entire time 🤣😅😂 - That sound was 🙌 very similar. It's great to review videos like this to remind us about all these great 80's songs!!
ОтветитьMartika had 2 number 1 songs in Australia
Ответитьalways loved Toy Soldiers
ОтветитьBla, Bla, Bla...
ОтветитьI remember blaring these songs on my Sony boom box radio. I'm a huge fan of synth pop. These songs bring back such great memories of the 80's. Thank you.
ОтветитьI can't think of anyone who has forgotten "867-5309." And I can't hear "Tarzan Boy" without remembering the Listerine commercial which used this for a soundtrack.
ОтветитьSSQ’s “Tonight” I liked, it was a departure from the bubble gum pop of the 80’s.
ОтветитьMost of these acts had more than one hit.
ОтветитьAha: Take on Me
Ответитьyeah because quarterflash sounds like Pat Benatar
ОтветитьThere was a reason they were one hit wonders, the rest of their music was poor.
ОтветитьAwesome list!
ОтветитьI grew up in the 80s, and these songs were timeless classics. The 80s was the best decade for music. These songs still stand out as classics in their own right.
ОтветитьThe 70's was the best
Ответитьshe TALKS TOO MUCH.let here the music.OMG
ОтветитьThe Georgia Satellites - Don't Give Me No Lines and Keep Your Hands to Yourself . We used to sing it with our kids all the time. IDK if its "awesome" but we had fun with it.
ОтветитьLife was so fun when this song came out. Music was cool and hip
ОтветитьYeah nah, Martika was more of a two-hit wonder, she had a hit with her cover of I Feel The Earth Move.
ОтветитьWhat about Don Johnson's "You Belong to the City" ? I liked that one a lot!🤔🤩
ОтветитьThese are not one hit wonders
ОтветитьThis list needs more Sandra.
ОтветитьDon Johnson's Heartbeat featured Dweezil Zappa on guitar.
ОтветитьQuarterflash and Baltimora were my faves back then - thank you for bringing them back. All great tunes and selections. The 80's were definitely the peak of music. Though Cutting Crew is pretty awesome too....surprised you didn't mention "One for the Mockingbird" - another catchy song by them.
As for one you missed - Shattered Dreams by Johnny Hates Jazz
it is because the jews in the music industry did not promote these awesome musicians.
ОтветитьQuarterflash had 3 hits in USA ("Harden My Heart" nº 3; "Find Another Fool"; nº 16; "Take Me to Heart" nº 14)
ОтветитьI never forgot that "Died in you arms tonight" is a great song.
ОтветитьThe Coca-Cola's song First Time by Robin Beck also can be considered as one-time-hit.
ОтветитьGreat songs ty
ОтветитьThe 80s ...when music was GREAT
ОтветитьThank you. You missed "I can´t dance (to the music you´re playing)" by Betty Boo from 1989.
ОтветитьSynth makes my skin crawl. Then again, I'm more of a 70s guy. The diversity of sounds are unmatched. The 80s all sound the same.
ОтветитьMartika "More than you know: was her other hit!!
ОтветитьStacy Q’s album had good songs too.
ОтветитьThe first nine tunes were fun. Number one is grating, despite the Shakespearean undertones. Bleah.
ОтветитьNever heard of most of them...clearly weren't strong enough to cross The Atlantic...except Black Velvet and Toy Soldiers and the Cutting Crew effort.
ОтветитьTake on Me, Walking in Memphis, Rumors...
ОтветитьQuarter flash was a pat benetar ripoff
ОтветитьDon Johnson's hit was great for the burger industry. "Hardees. I'm looking for a Hardees." Now, listen to it again. Getting hungry for a Frisco Burger yet? Or maybe it's "Arby's. Lookin' for an Arby's..." Now I want a "Beef 'n' Swiss." Then came Taco. What was next, doughnuts? Well yes. In every disaster movie featuring LA, CA, the massive fiberglass doughnut from Randy's Doughnuts, would always break loose and roll down the street. It's classic.
Ответить10 random CRAP songs. Clicked off at #7
ОтветитьCutting Crew and Quarterflash were definitely hits then and carried their way through to today be it through radio or movies.
ОтветитьToo bad we can't listen to the song, instead of this person talking all the way through it....
😑
Tony basil mickey should be on the list over markita
ОтветитьI agree your list is great. Would be good to look at same listing for today and see how they rank now.
ОтветитьTo be fair Don Johnson had at least in Europe with Tell it like it is a good follow up to Heartbeat.
ОтветитьI'm glad I missed these in the '80's.
ОтветитьToy soldier was great
Ответить"I Always Feel Like Someone's Watching Me" Rockwell.
ОтветитьDon Jonson wasn’t the only actor to try singing and remind everyone of his show did you ever see that David Hasslehoff I think it was called come in my car it was just a knight rider fan song
ОтветитьFun Fact: Jennifer Love-Hewitt sings backup on Martika's song "Toy Soldiers"
