Samsung just wants to make their phones iOS knockoff's. Bixby is a joke.

Android OEMs had to raise prices. Apple has absolutely dominated global smartphone profits (80-90%) for years, leaving everyone else to operate on razor thin margins.

Apple’s big persuasive gains the last 8 years has meant that older phones are viable for longer and allow them to hit those lower price points, cutting away another Android advantage from the 2010’s.

You've got so many things wrong and clearly have some bias for Apple products.

Well. It’s all to do with people wanting to try out iPhones as in many 3rd world countries, iPhones are seen as a luxury costing 2-3 times for their original price.

Note: western media influencers the world. And market psychology is a part of it.
Note: majority of people are buy based varieties of iPhones and comparing em with cheaper android.

Here, iPhones are overly priced then it should and for what you get. And are only for those people who have other apple devices or just use their phones to do basic things.

Everything exciting about Samsung is also gone, the notification light, cool notification sounds like “ drop, chirp etc” the slick user interface they used to have and the attention to details in their software example like icons, menus etc

I think one of the biggest factors in apple's favor is consistency. When you buy an iPhone you know exactly what to expect. A more or less stable experience that's simple and familiar. With android, companies are constantly changing and you never know what you're going to get next time. But above all in this category, it's old hardware. I've been consistently using an iPhone 8 as my former primary phone and now my secondary phone for years, but it hasn't stopped getting feature updates until just this year. If I got any old android phone, I'd probably have gotten rid of it years ago.

The biggest downfall of android was when Samsung phone batteries started catching on fire and started to get banned on planes. I don’t think Android/ Samsung ever recovered from that.

Android manufacturers should stop copying Apple and focus on what made Android phones successful in the first place

This is so true and I can tell you exactly when it happened. As for me being a avid Google Pixel user and being a Pixel Superfan, I started to see the shift when the Apple iPhone 12 models came out. I went back to the iPhone since having the iPhone 3G. I started using Android after that mainly the Google Nexus/ Pixels until I came back to Apple with the iPhone 12 Pro. That was the beginning of the shift because that’s when Apple opened iOS up for more customization. Add other factors like Google own apps working better on iOS than on Android. Plus a better, quality hardware experience drove me back to iPhone. I haven’t looked back and I’m all in on the Apple ecosystem 🧃

My cousin and i started olaying pokemmo
He wanted to keep playing on his iPhone. Ive had the apk available for years on Android..
We discovered that iPhone JUST got a beta for a mobile version
You have so sideload some alternative store, and if youre not a developer you have to do a weekly check in so the store doesnt deletw itself from yoru iphone......

Ive honestly almost never been told NO on android.
I have a work iPhone and cannot stand it. The UI, how thingsbare set up the fucking keyboard is miserable....idk how anyone who enjoys technology freedom chooses iPhone

Using Samsung in every comparison as an "Android" is a joke in my opinion since Samsung is just a copy of Apple but for android so its debatable on what you pick. But to get a true android experience its better off to pick up a oneplus, pixel or xiaomi since those are some companies that are still kind of like the old times in terms of pricing as for performance might wanna wake up and take a look around. the cpu isn't the only thing a phone depends on 💀

The main reason why Apple is gaining ground is everyone is into having some sort of luxury item these days and iphone is an easy way to be part of the must have community. Not to mention that Apple have a good marketing team. Apple's greed alone puts me of them. You don't get a plug and only get a 1 year warranty on their products ( They can't have much confidence in their products) when some companies provide 2 years. And they are making it harder for 3rd party repairs, so you have to send your phone to Apple for a ridiculous repair bill. But I must admit that Android phones need to be careful with their prices to stay in the competition. Paying over £400 for a phone is just stupid when really what your gaining most of the time is a slightly better camera.😊

I have to agree almost 100%. But: raw performance is higher on Apple - at least in the CPU part of the SoC. The GPU part is better now on the iPhone 15 Pro Max - but the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3+ will surpass the iPhone.

Anyways, I live in Germany and Android is very strong here. But if someone switches to iOS, they will not go back.
I managed to switch almost my whole family from Android (Samsung in this case) to iPhone. And even the cross-selling of Apple devices works out in the form of Apple Watches and iPads.

Even the trend of “WhatsApp sells your data and you should not trust them” starts to get relevant here in Germany. iMessage starts to get some traction, but I think it will need some years to surpass Android compatible messengers here.

The increase in Apple users around the world is mainly due to iPhones becoming more affordable in the developing countries. As newer iPhones get released the older ones become cheaper.

I'm usually one to hear people out, but did you seriously complain about the price of Androids in comparison to iPhones? Are we going to act like there aren't Android devices in literally every single price bracket top-to-bottom whereas that is certainly not the case with iPhones, let alone iOS devices if we want to correctly compare an O.S. to another O.S. instead of this long-ongoing "Android vs iPhone" debate that makes as much actual sense as comparing all-wheel-drive BMW M cars as a whole to Audi's Quattro drivetrain. It's not even a direct comparison nor does it run parallel tech, despite serving the same overall purpose.

I have specific budget for my smartphone and I set it to 400USD and below. I'm now using a Lenovo Legion Y70, great phone, only 290USD. I don't have any specific use cases to justify an iPhone purchase for 3x the price of my current Android phone.

Samsung ditches headphone jack and locks the bootloader, if they wanna follow so bad i may as well go with whos leading. The problem is manufacturers not being different. A foldable or the Nothing phone would be my android choice

when i talk to people out in the world (and i meet hundreds of new people a week) the reason they choose iphone is blue bubbles, ecosystem or seeing it as a status symbol. iphones are inferior. they ride on superficial things. they tricked people into thinking its the phone for the rich people. Samsung has so many features i dearly missed when i used iphone as ive used many different phones. the quality and features of samsung makes it worth the price by far more than the iphone.

People are getting stupider and stupider, that's the reality, you can't tell me with a straight face that iphones are even remotely good, with all their stupid limitations "oh it has to be the apple way" ffs, you can't even download torrents, they still use usb 2.0 and 60hz on "premium" phones... Pathetic, that's what the apple sheep buying their crap are. I'm here with my Galaxy A34 having a more 2023 experience than people with iphone 15 and 15 plus... L O L

Never used an apple product in my life. Hate how android companies blindly followed apple's bullshit instead of actively trying to differentiate themselves. Miss removable batteries, my headphone jack and even the physical buttons at the bottom, but hey at least we got 120 hz displays like 2 years earlier.

Doesn't help that, if you go to a carrier store, you really only can find Samsung Android phones. Most of the variety in Android comes from buying unlocked, which most consumers would rather not do.

Another factor is the software support. If I'm about to buy a $1000 smartphone, I'd rather get the iPhone with guaranteed 6+ years of new features and security updates than an Android phone where I get barely 2 years of updates (if I'm lucky).

The latest iPhones are simply unaffordable outside the USA. People don't want a crummy iPhone SE or an iPhone 12. Apple is rationing their features out while Androids are half the cost.

The main reason for me was reliability.
All the manufacturers were focused on introducing new gimmicks instead on quality control.
I had to choose between good battery life, good camera, working speakerphone, or good display.
When iphone checked all these check marks I switched.
And although I missed some Android features, I would not sacrifice reliability to have them.
