Demon's Souls 4K: Old King Allant Final Boss Fight and Ending

Bosses in this game are an absolute joke compared to anything in other Souls games. You can literally strafe round them all cause the AI is so bad. People who say this game is hard are tripping and I played the original along with them.

I think I've figured out what makes this version feel better than the one in remake

it's his animations, he has a brief windup, then SNAPS into the end of the attack, which gives his attacks a sense of feeling. while it was originally a limitation of the engine it made him feel much more powerful because you couldn't track his dash attacks, it felt like he was attacking and moving faster than the eye could keep up
remake allant is functionally the exact same fight, it's just that you can track his animations from beginning to end, causing them to lose that same weight.
I do like the graphical improvements in remake, but the animation needed to carry this same snappyness to really sell him as the real allant fight.

The remake improved everything except this boss. I seriously dont know what they did to his face in the new one but it looks awful.

Feels cool playing the remake before the original. No nostalgia goggles. Can see each game for what they actually are. Imo the remake did an amazing job.

Making him not shout in his intro was way more sinister.

The best way to do this fight is to find the biggest hammer you can find, strip down to your loincloth for max mobility, and bash this dudes head in like a watermelon.

Was very disappointed with this guy. Having fought through a castle with Knights and Dragons you find the final boss 'King' is some kind of cartoon Anime evil General with a goatee. Glad they made Gwynn in Dark Souls look like an actual King and also Vendrick in Dark souls 2.

Agree with everyone, this battle was much better than the remake. Also, the character model is better and more menacing.

I miss his old voice, he sounded like Ganondorf in this one, especially when he jump attacks.

The introduction and Allant himself looks a lot more epic than ps5 version. Why did they have to change the awesome wind sound effect and make him do that senile shout in the remake? Here, it's just the wind and him drawing his sword in silence.

This game always get overlooked because of Dark Souls but if it wasn't for the success of Demon Souls, we wouldn't have gotten the Dark Souls games.

He looks a lot harder than the remake on ps5... I played that one last summer and I beat the final boss first try... I was a bit disappointed honestly.

Flamelurker made me start to realize the true extent of my anger and frustration with Demon's Souls. Maneaters started to make me question my sanity. But King Allant straight up put the fear of apocalypse into me, and my first time beating him will always be a satisfying memory like no other

I still have this game, and play it to this day. At the Greatest Hits/Game of the Year in 2009 in addition. When I first started as a kid I gotten through Phalanx, and Tower Knight (along with Armor Spider) bur nothing else. Now here almost 14 years later I'm back on it, and advanced way further almost at the end. I say almost cause Old King Allant is my last obstacle before getting to the ending, and I been stuck on him for months. Last night I managed to get stronger, and further to half of his HP while in my soul form as a test to see how I do so far.

When I could finally afford a PS3 after getting my first job, the first game I asked for was Demons Souls. I actually meant Dark Souls (ds2 had just come out), but I didn't know enough to realize it was the wrong game by looking at the box art. I just happened to say Demons Souls. I was very confused as to why the game looked ever so slightly different to what I saw my friend playing. I'm so glad I got this game because it was tremendous. I love it to death.
