To address weapon balance between MW2 and 3 guns:

Infinity Ward is adamant on Sledgehammer not changing any of their MW2 guns/systems. When SHG wanted to make more drastic changes to MW3 they were met with strong disapproval, and since Infinity Ward has final say on any mechanical changes SHG basically can't do much to the MW2 weapons beyond the changes they've already made to ranges and damage to put them in line with 150hp.

It basically means all the changes we've seen between MW2 and 3 is entirely due to SHG addressing issues with MW2 and any residual things carried over is due to lack of approval from IW, carry over content or minimal time for drastic changes. I don't see drastic changes coming to MW2 guns in the future, that's unless IW takes the stick out their asses and owns up to their treatment of SHG and takes ownership in their treatment to the community with MW2/dumbass design decisions they made with that game.

(It would be a miracle if IW took accountability)
