Xiaomi Mi 5 Review After 1 Month: No longer a must-buy smartphone

those black bar around the screen is a big turnoff..might as well include a thicker bezel to cover it....

i have seen and read many comments about this phone and none , i mean seriously no one really mentioned about its weight. 129 gram..!!.I am sold...Most of the specifications more or less the same but the weight...You cant find one in the market... It makes lots of difference s.....

I think your review is okay, but your conclusion is absolutely incorrect, because the phones you have mention is actually HALF the price of that of the mi5. so for me it is still a MUST buy, but as they say, we should respect everybody's opinion. Great review by the way. thumbs up!

It is a must buy if you buy the imported one. RM1079-1100 for the Mi5 prime,like,that's the best deal ever? Sure,there are risks to this, such as tempered custom rom that comes with ads and malware, defective unit and the troubles you go through to claim your warranty etc. Still, for whay you pay,you get double the value. There are many being sold on Lazada as of now. Be sure to check user reviews or seller credibility before purchasing as the products they're selling might be one of the things that puts a frown on your face at the end of the day.
Similar processor and camera sensor as the Oneplus 3,quick charge 3.0,convenient for single handed use and any more. All this for RM600-800 cheaper than the Oneplus 3. I'm sold.

what about the finger print scanner to unlock the phone, do you still need to press the power button first,then the scanner to unlock the device or does it unlock by just pressing the finger print scanner ??

Yeah the OnePlus 3. sad it costs at least 30% more and has that awful amoled screen that will burn in after a year of use like every amoled display

Don't buy Xiaomi phone if you want to use global ROM and listen to music. The volume is low and sound quality is average. It's a known issue for the past year and Xiaomi don't fix it.

Lol I bought Mi 5 prime with BDT 28.5k which is a lil less than RM 1549. :v So I guess, for me it was a must buy. Cause the Prime edition removes all the flaws of the standard version. 64 GB is more than enough for me and I don't have an underclocked snap 820. :D

Man the Mi 5 is already in 270€ en aliexpress...

A little more from 1549myr is a little vague, One Plus 3 is 1888myr Official Pricing, while Axon 7 is 1999myr. I don't think that this comparison is valid. A more direct comparison would be the Galaxy A5 (1499myr). Also, if you're not looking at official pricing, the imported units of Mi5 can be had for 1200myr. Considering the price you're paying for the value you're getting. I think it still has a stance. I understand your opinion on why it may not be a must buy however. Great job on the follow up review.
