"Jump Cancelling with Hutao on mobile is hard"

Hey, question, you seem to have the jump cancels completely mastered on mobile, can you help me understand it?

To avoid charged ATKing through and go way behind the enemy, I am doing the n1c jump cancel. But when I press the jump button, she stops the Charged ATK animation but jumps FORWARD, which doesn't help with repositioning.

I usually see video of n1c J where the Jump stops the charged ATK dead in its tracks
[In front of enemy > N1 > C > Goes thru enemy > Jump upwards > Stops and lands right behind enemy > Turn to face the enemy again, repeat]
I reckon in this case, the total distance travelled is Half of a single Charged ATK distance since the latter Half is being JCancelled and the Jump contributes 0 distance since she jumped up and down, no position change.

Whereas when I do the n1c J (I am on mobile, iPad), she just jumps 5 feet forward after the charged ATK 
[In front of enemy > N1 > C > Goes thru enemy > Jump FORWARD > Lands 6 FEET BEHIND enemy > walk back into range]
But here, doing the N1C J results in a total distance travelled of half a Charged ATK PLUS a FULL FORWARD JUMP. That's like further away than not doing the J cancels. Now the next N1 can't hit coz I am way outta melee range so I'd have to walk back to the enemy, wasting precious skill uptime, can't dash back coz no c1, and then do the combo again and face the same problem. It is so frustrating that I don't even feel like I am doing an ATK chain anymore, it feels like 1 hit, run around, 1 hit run around.😭

What am I doing wrong??
How do I get her to jump UPWARDS instead of FORWARD?
Is there something I have completely missed that is causing the issue, like a specific order or timing to let go of the movement button for 0.2 seconds or something like that?

For hu tao i don’t want pull because i play on mobile and jump canceling is hard and not very fun and i can’t pull c1 and don’t have zonghli

I wanna ask Im planning to pull hu tao on 4.1 banners if she comes so should I pre farm shimenawa or crimson? Coz i really like one shotting playstyles like with ganyu (Exception being yoimiya shes beloved) and her burst isnt like yoimiya where its basically useless

Pretty easy to jump cancel on mobile with a gaming phone that has air triggers I'm glad I choose the right phone

I practice doing this by not using shield, reducing my Hu tao HP till single/double digit, and try to fight any mobs and boss I encounter.

And yes, after practicing jump cancelling is not that hard.

I preferably use dash canceling than jump on mobile

Bro if only they added a button customization, things would be so much easier as I could be able to use my pointer fingers to do the jumping and stuff.

A year late but my main struggle with jump canceling is not the jump cancel itself or anything about it really

It’s trying to get my phone to register that I want to do another charged attack right after the jump (sometimes it will stall for no reason, so I’m just standing there, holding the attack button and nothing is happening)

why are the Hu Tao videos I see always have low HP

Mobile interface is designed to pinpoint touch coordinate. The denser and deeper the pixel the more calculation needed. This created lag from calculation to the execution to the reality you saw.

So sometimes any input you try to force might be regarded as a "noise".

How to solve this? Get a bigger spec mobile or use a mobile keyboard or usb-c joystick. Or just use feeling like uncle roger told us.

As a PS5 player I can't even think of jump cancelling on mobile
