Faith or Intelligence? Best ELDEN RING Stat

Feels like faith was meant to be hybrid and int to be main build. Most faith requirements are lower than intelligence as well

Can’t pick, INT is way stronger but- then again I have 80 int and 20 faith 😂 but I wanna max both out because let’s be honest, faith looks a lot more badass, but holy the rune grinding that’ll come with that sucks

Why is everyone ignoring the fact tht intelligence straight out gives u more fp for spells while faith doesnt that alone is clear winner

I have one character for faith, one spell sword, and one experimental tribrid faith/intelligence/hopefully bleed build. I'll see how the 3rd character works out.

Thanks for all the useful! I just wish all this was delivered without a late-game showcase qq I'm someone who likes to discover all the different parts of games by myself, while also familiarising myself with in-game mechanics. Seeing even a small portion of mid and late game content takes away the magic of experiencing all that.

Terra of magica should be 5 just because you have to be in a small radius to use it which won’t be likely in most boss fights

i played st, int and now faith.
int is incredibly ez, and the best for early, mid and end game. you do not have to do much since the most powerful spell, in my op, is given at the beginning of the game. later you're going to get some upgrades to the same spell. obviously new spells too but the most powerful is the one you get at the beginning.( their upgraded versions i mean)
the basic spell is super fast and deals a lot of dmg, you dont have to worry abt hp since most fights will be long distance.

on the other hand for Faith, incantations are super slow, they take ages to cast but deal good dmg. the default incantations are trash in my op, slow and consume a lot of mana, plus very short range.
for faith you will have to level up your hp(vigor) since incantations wont be enough, faith weapons are a must.
dont get me wrong you will later find some incredible incatations but (just my op) not as effective as the INT default spell.

think abt this way, for INT you can go full INT and dont worry abt other stats(mana too ofc)
faith is more like hybrid, you will have some incatations relatively similar to spells, and close fight skills, it takes some time to find better incatations but it's worth it. my recommendations (lightning spear) super fast, and powerful.

This vid must be the reason why an idiot told me that radagon is most surely not weak to fire, or that malenia is weak to everything so being weak to fire is nothing special

I played at launch as an int user and ive seen faith go through the ringer in the beginning but after some much needed buffs i was glad to see a faith user demolish me with radagons rings of light

against holy enemies you have defense buffs and you can switch between flame art and holy depending on the situation aand radagon takes more fire dmg than others dunno bout others but this kinda feels biased.

Nice general overview . One question I have tho - frost scales with int doesn’t it ? I wanted to make a new run for the dlc using strength and frost .

As a newer midgame player I'm still confused by all of this. I'm a samurai mele that uses incantations so intelligence is out. Faith??? I've got it to 25 for golden vow, I think some of the seals scale on Faith but would that buff the incantations since the seals seem to be tailored to a subset like beast, dragon, ect. My weapons scale to strength and dexterity though so should I start pumping up strength to match my dex? So confused.

Tsk tsk, you completely neglected the bestial incantations xD Pest Threads = big enemy shredder (ie. Elden Beast); Fire and lightning are the majority of least resisted elements across all bosses (hell Radagon is the most weak/vulnerable to fire).

I'm a have to side with Faith - especially if you're doing an Arcane/Faith build. Dragon spells got you covered with the INT side (magic breath, frostbite, and physical as well). So all good there :P Or.... just go Int/Fai adding Death sorceries and Golden Order incantations to your spells... be a TRUE mage xD

I'm only like level 48, but i have upgraded faith and intelligence, both to level 24 (i have a talisman, that makes them both a little bit higher so i didn't have to use that many runes) just, so that i can use the sword of night and flame. The only problem is, that now my other stats aren't tht high.

I just went with both. It’s such a blast to play with.

the spells have both magic and fire damage...against malenia you summon a spirit and then use the breath of ice and that of fire repeatedly to cause the freeze to proc...for giant enemies there is the pestilential threads spell.. . that's enough...

i have been thinking about this for a couple weeks i think faith wins out due to the coverage of damage types the status spells it also has decent ranged spells it also has a the best dmg buff spells, and it also pairs better as a fighter sword and shield or what have you, for int i think it is better for a pure caster and i think it has the highest dmg potential from the gear it uses and the stats u can save from not needing heavy armor, int also has the best spell for just melting every boss in the game almost, and for the early game i think faith is best mage can be boring and you dont get many good spells, but for the dmg buff spells i wouldnt say it is late game only for faith you can run right up to flame grant me strength and vow if you know where they are but same with mage i tried to keep gear out of my vote cuz both can pretty much just go grab what they need right away and if not both have to wait for some things

scholars armament is really slept on for 12 int with the digger staff it gives the highest ar boost of the comparable faith alternatives except it weighs more on equip

Godslayer greatsword is a dex weapon, not faith

In my heavily biased opinion: faith because it looks cooler to me.

Many non faith builds may invest into faith specificly to use incantations like golden vow and flame, grant me strength to buff themselves due to the low faith requirements to cast. Pure int build are known to use this if theyre primarily using gravity/magma spells to boost their damage, this mixture provides both magic, physical and fire options for you.

I'm new to the game. Is it good to do a intelligence/faith build?

I like faith better because there are a lot of incants that give you poise. There are only a few spells in sorcery that can provide this if any.

I would have included the magma blade as top faith weapons, the fire damage is 100% from faith stats. And that weapon is insane

I enjoy faith significantly more, but int is just better. They tend to do similar damage for similar cost, but the int weapons/spells are faster and have more range.

I have both on my lvl 280 characters and I can choose which I like best tbh. Depends on the day

Faith is more fun but int is more useful

In terms of raw damage int is far superior but faith has way more variety more fun to play and way more value outside of just damage potential

For me it’s that for sorceries you wave a stick a around

For faith you create a fireball and just CHUCK IT

For Faith you gotta have "Faith" your stats will get raised after a certain point.

Blasphemous blade must of gotten buffed since I last checked cuz the damage is much more insane lol
