Fun fact I found out if you put it in front of a lamp or something else in a dark room the shape of the figure kinda resembles your logo

They actualy painted his eyebrows, not his eyes

Seeing as how this a comment a month late—and unless you’ve learned of this by now—the head and upper chest is supposed to go further up into the cavity in the tetra jet mode. It cleans up the back of the jet more and completely hides the head.

decided to pick up the thrust repaint of this since his colors are a nod to armada thrust since and we rarely get armada figures

I got SS Thrust and I have to say… I love this mold. It restored my faith in studio series

Honestly, about the side rant about Movie Ironhide not being G1 Ironhide… I personally don’t care about it too much. Since I started from the UT I personally like or specifically would rather see other versions of characters that aren’t totally G1 versions of them but at the same time if the movies wanted to be better, then just tell everyone “we are taking our own spin of these characters” and not go around acting like they’re “going back to G1”… Also Bay needed someone to tell him no on the overcomplicated Transformer designs that aren’t boxy at all.

The only thing that bothers me about his face are his nose, and the fact that they painted his eyebrows instead of his actual eyes. When I get this, I’m clipping off the nose, painting the nose section and eyebrows silver, and his actual eyes red

If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone complain how the movie characters looked nothing like their g1 counterparts, I’d be so fucking rich lol

He's not a retool in myopinion. I don't think they have a single similar part.

Wasn't a fan of Starscream's face until I realized he looked like Cotton Hill from King of the Hill and I can 100% see him proudly going around inserting "I killed 50 Autobots" into any conversation possible.

Yeah, movie ironhide reminds me WAY more of trailbraker than ironhide

One of the things that people criticize the Bay films about is "the characters look nothing like they're supposed to!" When they've been doing this ever since the 90s. The biggest example is with the Unicron Trilogy. Look at Energon Ironhide, Cyclonus, Menasor, Sideswipe, hell even Megatron and Jetfire all are practically different characters compared to their original counterparts; yet they are beloved and praised for doing so, Animated Prowl too couldn't be further from his G1 incarnation

I picked this one up with the intention to purchase it, I,m not upset I left him in the bread isle

That's not starscream, that's cybertronian mode blitzwing, they are just trying to keep the trademark on the name

So funny story, when I got his bro Thundercracker I noted that he has a completely different vibe from Starscream. Even regarding the issues you mentioned, they weren't so apparent to my eyes. It was only when I thought about his IDW version when I realised this: if I didn't recognise him, he looks like a Comicbook Superhero. Seriously, if his proportions are modified SS Thundercracker would resemble an obscure Superhero, especially with his blue, red and white colour scheme.
(The fact he's covered in a nice shade of blue probably helps)

So about the G1 Ironhide and Movie Ironhide thing I think the best idea if you’d want to have both a rename the movie characters cause while I like em I’ll admit they are pretty different apart from some personalities like Jazz being cool and Ratchet being a Medic and Optimus and using big words to confuse his enemies or something but you could rename some characters and maybe change the designs to fit into the aesthetic it could work

i have the thrust retool which is the superior look for it to bulk out my deceptisquad

feet could be alot more stable as hes very back heavy

They’re especially helpful for someone like me, who’s never bought an action figure in her life (I’m pretty new to Transformers, I’ve only seen the Bumblebee movie and ROTB). Thankfully, none of the gripes you had were dealbreakers for me. After getting him, I actually went and bought the Bumblebee movie Arcee from Walmart because the poor guy looked lonely. Thank you again! I love my new ugly duckling!

The bumblebee movie designs are really good at looking more realistic, but still looking mostly like the original character

i'm surprised that you didn't mention due to the design of the figure his forearms are gigantic

Perspective Prime.This Bumblebee Starscream was a definite pass for me.That face is too damn fugly.

His face is the reason I only bought thrust and thundercracker

My version of this figure had horrible QC. The first time I got it out of the box and turned the head, it popped of. The head wouldn't go back into place no matter what. The balljoint was just too misshapen. The wing was also super loose and slightly melted. In the alt mode, the gun would not stay tabbed in. Both of the elbows were also super loose.

Unless I'm misunderstanding what retool means, I don't think this is one. I believe this is just the case of it being designed for the robot mode to have the same general structure as Blitzwing, since Blitzwing is just a generic seeker in the movie. Again, I could just be misunderstanding what it means for a figure to be a retool

Do you think this mold is good enough to get Skywarp who is 5 dollars more than when this released?

I just got the Skywarp repaint at Target. (Thanks mom) He looks pretty good and large for a modern day Voyager inside the box.

I really love how the alt mode just appears with one swing
