This one came with the sidewinder joystick. I wish I could get that sensation back playing this game with it for the first time.

This one and Uprising, one of the best games I played! Couldn't get it to start on Windows 11, too busy to try and figure it out, job, kids, family... :))))

I was looking for this game several months beacuse I played a demo when i was a kid… looking on google I ended up downloading Battlezone, Homeworld and nooo… it was this awesome game called: Urban Assault.
I founded it in a list of Microsoft games from 1998. And then i watch this video. Thanks for still playing and uploading the video

One of my favourite games of all time. Such incredible world building. The only faults were the disappointing ending and the bs ai common to many RTS of the time

I always loved playing this game ! when i was younger, i didnt understand any english, so i didnt know you had to buy the game to play it through xD I always thougt that i had to do something on the last demo level so it would continue xD. Best game.

I may have to revisit this game. I played it like crazy as a kid. It was so unique.

So glad I finally found this game - all I remembered was the "HOST STATION DESTROYED!" voice and vague images in my deep memories. I was 7 years old and this was one of the first PC games I ever played after The Hive.

I remember when this was called “Anarchy” before the demon came out. Urban Assault was a better name.

I was always so terrible at this game because of my lack of multitasking ability, but man was it unique and cool.

este juego lo jugue por ahi en el 2002 dios mio horas y horas y disfrutaba tanto el mapa y sus enemigos muy buen juego! lo malo es que lo compre pirata jajajaja increible para esa epoca, comprar juegos "piratas" porque yo era muy chaval y bueno tampoco tenia internet, lo malo es que vine a tener internet como en el 2004/2005 y juaz habian otros juegasos asi que triste, pero enserio quien me haya leido por aca "jueguenlo" y obviando los graficos es un juegaso!

Imagine a remake of this videogame, with today graphics made on Unity or similary. I played the original for first time on a Pentium MMX. I still have that PC.

Someone has remade this using a open gl engine with higher res included to work with newer pcs, its called UA open.

This game came with my Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback stick controller. It used a gameport connection prior to USB. It actually wasn't well optimized for this game. I ended up enjoying the game more with mouse and keyboard. It just blew my mind how you could play as any unit from a first person view at any time. The AI was so stupid, it was your benefit to do this.

This game was so ahead of its time. A damn shame it never got a remake

I wish people made reviews of this game. It gives you a feeling of loneliness and dread. It's only you and your units alone inside a box (a dome) with abandoned buildings and a post-apocalyptic setting, and everyone else are your enemies - an alien species who want to drain Earth's core energy and kill all living beings, another alien species who see humans as fertilizer, a human faction which is a fanatical religious cult, another human faction which became hostile after your faction (the "good guys") tried to sell them to the alien species... Even when you play Metropolis Dawn with the kyternesians (Ghorkov) and Taerkasten it's still the same feeling of being all by yourself, from the mission briefings to the gameplay. Your subordinate units are CPU controlled so you don't feel completely alone and they can defend themselves in battles, but it's still kinda eerie.

A thing that I always liked about this game is the sky, in most maps the sky is really pretty, it gives a warm feeling after you wipe your opponents off the map and you can just keep staring at the sky from inside your Host Station, it's relieving.

This game was so good..Especially paired with the sidewinder

This game was way ahead of its time.
