Hey guys I have a 2019 ktm 300xc and I'm thinking of switching to sherco 250se ????
ОтветитьSchweet. 😀👍
ОтветитьS3 makes an expanded power valve cover for the Sherco. In the same way that the Xtrainer has the extra spacer on its power valve cover versus the RR. Just something I saw while researching. Grrrruunnt
ОтветитьCongrats Barry and bro
Great clip as usual mate
Got my eyes on the 250, what mods are needed to the carby??
I believe they come out of the factory too rich rich right ??
Great videos as always. Gracias por compartir
ОтветитьYesterday I attended my first ever enduro practice (with my DRZ 😅) and I just want to thank you for the inspiration to do it. Been watching your enduro videos for a long time. Man it was hard!
I also got to test ride a Gasgas 300 two stroke. First time I ride a two stroke, what a crazy difference that was in power and weight.
Perhaps you've already made one, but if not, I would love a video that covers what to expect with a two stroke when it comes to maintenance. Not what it says in the manual in terms of when and what, but what to realistically expect. That would be very useful to someone who's never had any experience with two strokes and performance oriented enduros in general.
Loved my 16 300 only reason i sold it was no matter how I rode it would only get 70k to a tank
ОтветитьTry the 9mm Brembo clutch master, I did it on my RR 300 and it made a HUGE improvement for about 130€
ОтветитьHey mate I have a 2022 300 factory and just swapped out 2x clutch springs for KTM300 springs 2014 I believe. Clutch is easily 10% lighter and as nice as everyone else's clutch.
ОтветитьWhat bar risers you using?
ОтветитьHa ha. Someone gave you a sherco😀
ОтветитьJumpstart won't help when the starter goes out.
ОтветитьTubliss.....thoughts for motocross?
ОтветитьHow did it compare to a TM, did you ride them back to back?
ОтветитьMay i ask what jetting you are running, and in what condition, eg. altitude, temp etc..? I recently bought a 300 factory, and i find it a bit rich, even if following sherco`s tables. Great video btw:)
ОтветитьTres bien, from NZ.
ОтветитьI really enjoy your channel over here in North Wales and have just bought the 300 se.
I love the buttery smooth electronic power valve, low down torque, and overall she looks ohhh la la 🇫🇷 😃
As a 6'4'' rider I'd be interested in knowing what mods you are contemplating on your 300?
Keep up the good work.
Huw 🤙
Hi Barry the map switch is a bit fragile I have a 21 300Se factory and the lug is great so far yery good one set of rings and pistion on my second 4 litres of 2 smoke oil
ОтветитьI’m a KTM 300xc tpi rider right now. I’m 100% going Sherco when I upgrade. I’m over having to keep oil pumps, and crank case pressure sensors on hand. I want to go back to a carb, mix my own frigging gas, and not have to worry about all these goofy electronics. And I’m a tpi owner who’s had zero issues in over 150 hours. Imagine how much I’d bitch if I’d had issues lol. I rode a 2021 Sherco 300se factory a while back. (First year counterbalance models) smart carbed. It was just as smooth as my ktm and the motor was tons better. Bottom, mod, and top.
ОтветитьHi Barry. I’m 6’8” I recently moved my pegs and bars closer together. And it has improved my riding instantly. I feel it may be mostly in my head that the bike feels smaller so installs more confidence.
ОтветитьGreat vid - I have a video where I mod my clutch to make it lighter. 3 KTM springs and a Midwest lever. The springs in particular are great. I feel it’s about half the pull.
ОтветитьCheck the underside of the clutch master cylinder it should have the size stamped on it the 250 probably has a smaller piston making the pull lighter
ОтветитьI've found running on the 'soft' mapping mode absolutely kills the fuel economy. If you're on a long ride, keep it in the hot mode.
ОтветитьAbout the plastics not lining up, it's usually the rear aluminum frame that's not straight. I think Sherco makes these of some kind of cheese 🤦🏻♂️ I got a 500Sef that I have bent the rear frame twice now on. U can easily spot it by looking at the rear fender and compare the edge vs the rear tire.
ОтветитьNot a criticism, but the video has you giving the bikes a pretty hard time, difficult terrain, lots of 1st/2nd gear, clutch use, suspension working overtime and so on. Do you rebuild or repair these bikes often? Sometimes I think you'd be better off with "Trials" bikes!
Great channel by the way.
I have 30 hours on my 2022 Sherco 300 SE and am also impressed. Previous 500 hours were on a 2017 KTM 300 XC-W which also is an excellent machine. To lighten clutch pull on Sherco I installed Midwest Engineering lever and replaced 3 clutch springs with KTM 125 springs that my dealer recommended. Springs worked great at lightening without any slip. Combination of both has clutch pull superb. Cheers!
ОтветитьGood hack for the battery is to add extension leads under your seat so if you have to jump start it’s easier off another bike, of course good to carry at least one jump pack in your ride group too. Fuel tap is ok for those of us with small hands, can’t get knocked but is annoying !
I’ve just gone from the 125 to the 250 and love it, other 1/2 also on a 250 hes more an aggressive style rider so wasn’t sure how that 300 power will go, but will likely go 300 next.. nothing the 250 hasn’t been able to do though.
PS thank you both for your help on Rocky mile at Kozi - practising small pivots is next up for me & got that rim locked moved to avoid the tyre unbeading !
Nice to see your new scooters!
ОтветитьI don’t think I could bring myself to purchase anything made in France…
Just saying.
I too have a thing for a thoroughbred Gaul, glad to hear they lived up to your high hopes. It's stupid I know, but the colour, and the distinctive whine of the sherco two-stroke models is enough for me! So congratulations Barry, on getting your new steed. Personally, I wouldn't care if all two strokes came with no means to start them! They rarely stall, and you only need half a wheel revolution to get them going again. If you stall them in a shitty spot, then try harder. You Muppet! Simple=light=heaven.
ОтветитьI am in Darwin and purchased a 300se Factory from Sunstate in Maroochydore, excellent service and they shipped it to me. I LOVE my 300. My first 2stroke in over 15years. Come from KTM's. I LOVE my Sherco. Regis for me at 5'10 are spot on.
Love your vids, keep up the excellent content 😃
It is a beautiful bike and I'm sure can handle some rough riding. One thing that would keep me away is the no Kickstart. In my eyes a must have!!! I'd much prefer a Kickstart over an electric start. I'm fortunate to have both.
ОтветитьNice bike, still sad it's not a tm, though.
Ответить
im thinking about getting a 250 2stroke enduro bike and im between this sherco and a beta. Ive ridin a beta and the engine was buttery smooth due to its counter weight. How does the sherco engine compare to the beta.
ОтветитьGreat bikes to sell at around 150 hours. All the moving parts in the power valve will need to be replaced. All the starter parts will also be pooched and you will be left to pick up the crumbs from your croissant crushers. I have had both the standard model and the race model pre KYB. I expect they are much better handling with the KYB. Like the GasGas/Rieju bikes ( I also hove one of those), I feel the long term reliability is suspect at best. Foe the money they need to do a lot better on quality.
ОтветитьBeen in love with my 21 SE250 Factory this last year, coming off team Orange I had reservations, but that was very short lived. My Sherco has over 100hrs and has performed flawlessly, Congrats on your purchases on your pair of Frenchy's Braaap on!
ОтветитьI owned a KTM300EXC. I'd go 300 every time. A 250 seems so old school. Bring back 350's so the 300 seems underpowered. Lol
ОтветитьWhich is smoother 250 or 300 ?
ОтветитьTon français est parfait 😁
ОтветитьI have 25 hrs on my 22 250 se factory .I can pretty much confirm everything you've said. My only real gripe is that petcock. It wouldn't be so bad but not only is it hard to get to but mine is also super stiff to turn. Oh well I don't frequently find myself having to switch to reserve so I can live with it.
ОтветитьSo i have a question. What is the power like on the 250 when you want to get her singing ??? I’m going to be in the market for a bike soon and i want a two stroke BUT id like something with more hit. Most people these days are after a two strike that is mild mannered. I do a very little bit of harder stuff. I try to avoid it if i can but in saying that i do like flowing single’s oh and it needs to regoed for NSW so I’m not in the market for a moto crosser at all.
ОтветитьHmm, Sherco don't sound Franch, it sounds hillbilly. Congrats on the new babies.
ОтветитьHow about range from the fuel tank ? Do you get a good days ride or 100ks out of a tank
ОтветитьGot rid of your bush pig ?
Ответить2022 with a carb...no thanks
ОтветитьThanx for the video. Are they same from 2020 model?
ОтветитьDefinitely an off road dedicated bike. They seem great. Just can’t decide if I wanna save for a sherco or a beta 200 race edition 🤔
ОтветитьProud you went French :)
I am about to do the same to replace my old gas gas.
Cheers from Paris !
