For produce to grow the soil and seeds need the sun's energy. So how are these crops and plants supposed to be exposed to the sun's energy from inside industrial buildings??

So why doesn't the government fund this like regular farms. I saw an article on how it saves land, water, forestry, and plus, plus, plus. Then the piece ends on, ..we shouldn't do it because of the electricity.

yeah that's not aeroponics. aeroponics means that the roots are suspended in air and get sprayed. this is hydroponics. either deep water or nft.

if you can make it profitable on such a large scale, awesome! But I MUCH prefer food grown in dirt. That being said, I may dabble in indoor gardening to get me through the harsh winters.

It's stupid. All that wasted light. Plus the tons of coal and natural gas used to keep the running.

The stupid part is that there's a big freaking sun outside. We have a technology called a window. Put freaking sun roofs and enclose it as a humid environment. Keep the enviroment separate from the aeroponics part. Use mirrors to direct the sun light in columbs. Come on dummies, it ain't efficient if you are attached to the grid! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Could you imagine a 10 story building downtown in a major metropolis full of a vertical farm. You could sell your produce to every single store and I bet that stores wouldn't have to change the price seeing that they would cut out all the shipping cost. Then again I'm not a logistics major nor do I work in supermarkets but it sounds feasible to me.
