ive never used it and never planned on it, tho it seems pretty useful.

I use way too many mega hack features to not use it😭especially icons because my old account had sooooo many icons that I use now but I lost all my data.

This video explained why you don’t need MegaHack, but why not still use it? Is it because you take pride in not using a tool everyone else needs? You don’t need a lighter to make a fire, but you would still use one anyways. Work smarter not harder. Idk though do what you want idc

I can't use megahack, judging that I'm quiting Geometry Dash. Plus, I never used megahack, so I don't think I'll ever use it even if I come back to Geometry Dash.

It's insane how well this aged now that you can enable hitboxes in practice and enable confirm exit without megahack too.

You can speedhack in vanilla 2.2, just place a time warp trigger at the beginning of the level.

Disabling Vsync with high framerates was the most important megahack 2.1 feature for playability.

And for me block esc and instant complete are necessary.

I agree with you... but what about fps bypass? Yes there is "unlock fps" built in but its not physics bypass, the physics still run on "60hz" and I use Megahack v8 for fps physics bypass.

Im probably gonna use it cuz 8.0 have more stuff making it worth it to adapt to 2.2 and also i think botting will be fun for platformer

I only use it for fps unlocker. Is there a way to play high fps without it?

megahack for creating levels

I’m pretty much the same way. I’ve only ever used Megahack V5 because I only wanted practice music hack and fps bypass, which it offered for free. Now that they’re both in the game, vanilla 2.2 is pretty much a dream come true for me. I have no problem with anyone else using Megahack V8 though; it boosts their enjoyment of the game at no one else’s expense. However, I think it should be coded in a way to not provide an unfair advantage to its users in Versus Mode when it comes out.

the only reason why I need megahack is because of an issue I have with GD and its that the screen ripples a little through the screen because of my monitor im guessing and megahacks full screen borderless feature fixes that so thats why I need it.

As someone who plays the game at a very weird level (not casual but far from competitive / grinding levels or stats) it baffles me how much MegaHack is a necessity for those specific niches

Like I sorta understand the points, but nothing from MegaHack has ever sounded like an argument as to why the mod would be useful for me, vanilla GD ia pretty good, even during 2.1 it wasn't a bad experience for me. But yeah I understand the need of some people, but really wish it wasn't the standard (having a modification of the base game to be the "normal basic way" always felt weird for me)

I'm much more of a creator, so I use Mega Hack for speedhacking and hitbox trails.

Copy levels is not possible in gd 2.2 btw, so hitbox on death argument doesnt work, such as startpos switcher, but I agree for the rest 👍

I just feel like not using megahack to play “vanilla gd” just puts u at a disadvantage that doesnt change the game at all

still need replay last checkpoint, once that's in vanilla I can get rid of megahack

For me, im still going to use megahack because there are 0 drawbacks to having it. I use fewer features now that we're in 2.2, but there's no reason i see for not having it if I've paid already

Here's my reasoning, I just want to play the basegame, I think it feels more fair in a way, because at the end of the day rob is adding these kinds of features because megahack is a hacked client. He wants people to run the basegame over a hack, and I can respect that.

I just think Megahack highlights how lousy of a developer RobTop is, a lot of this video was "here's a feature from Megahack RobTop has kind of added in a 7 year update, it's a bit worse which is annoying but it's a good enough substitute for Megahack." which is outrageous considering this has literally been RobTop's livelihood for the last 7 years and he gets outdone by a very small, essentially hardcore community funded, developer years prior. I've kinda switched to GD mobile now since I'm at uni and didn't bring my PC so I won't personally be using Megahack, and I think the base game works just fine - but Megahack and other community mods like it are just a testament to how much better the game could be if RobTop stepped up as a developer or just got a team like people have been requesting for the last 5 years or so.

Hi aeon ! Just wanted to say that solid object's hitboxes ARE shown by DebugDraw, they are just white and not blue as usual. Also, you can make a "speedhack" by placing a "timewarp" trigger in a copy of a lavel you are learning, to make the song sync, you can simply use a "edit song" trigger and modify the speed of the song.

I would like Rob to make a Toogle off Shake effects because I really get dizzy while playing certain levels :(

I don't see much of a reason to get mega hack right now unless for specific circumstances because it'll keep breaking with every GD bugfix update and with 2.21 and it doesn't have much because it has to be remade with every GD update.
