'Pop' trivia time. Iggy Pop loves the Sleaford Mods. He DJ's on BBC Radio 6 on a Friday night (great show btw) and one time he said "I'm having as much fun as it's possible to have without a Sleaford Mods track, tonight".

he seems to love the record but then at the end he's like "oh but it's a bit repetitive so 6/10"

theneedledrop "Progressing" the music, rhythm, melody or counterpoint to the leitmotif is not the point here. The fact you compared them to Crass should have given you a clue. The focus with this band right now is the sheer disillusionment with day-to-day life in 21st century Britain. And they are just the band we need right now.

I'm just expecting more music from something that is sold as music.

Spot on review - personally I love this stuff, someone posted a track on my Facebook and I just had to get into it right then and there.  It is the closest sound and feeling to those early punk rock records that got me so Punk back in 1976... What you refer to as 'one dimensional' I see as kind of Ramones-ish (and Fall-ish) repetition, it's their individual style and that's kind of good in my books...

Noooooooooooooooooo The Fall and Crass were musicians  they were coherent and had youth too account for the velocity Sleaford Mods are just rubbish like a fart in a spacesuit - not wanted

You're talking about them not being without their forefathers, and for me the standout forefather would be John Cooper Clarke. In my opinion, these lads just completely pale in comparison to him. Seriously check him out if you haven't heard him, he's inspired a lot of predecessors to these guys.
