macOS 14.1 Sonoma is Out! - What's New?

After 14.1.2 update M1 pro touch bar display not working but touch is working. During restart it's showing green tint

Sonoma screwup my iphone image on Zoom , it looks really crapy now.

Still no Netflix or Hulu or prime

Apple is so annoying releasing these useless OS versions every second. I’m a music dude and Apple garbage os updates keep requiring music equipment manufacturers to keep up and sometimes it becomes obsolete. Some of the useless updates Apple did on my iPhone crashed my phone and some of my photos and videos got erased forever!! APPLE, STOP IT!!! 😡… or I will switch back to windows and tell my music buddies too.

Regarding 14.1.1: My 2 Nikon Z8's are not tethering on my MacBook Pro M2 Max; 14.1 worked without any issues. I've spoken with a Level 2 support at Adobe and a Level 3 support at Nikon. It appears that some 3rd party applications need to be updated. Has anyone else had this issue?

I still cant get it to recognize my encrypted SD card.
Also if set my widgets to monochrome full time, when I open a new space the widgets turn dark gray instead of the transparent gray.
Does anyone know if there are any fixes to this yet?

I can tell you that Logic Pro is much faster to load and opening projects is much faster too.

looks like there are so many bugs in 14.1, and I think they still exist in 14.2, I probably just wait until 14.3 to update.

Since updating sending an email to my group contacts now shows all the emails. The chosen option is selected to not show addresses, but it still does. Any suggestions, please?

if we had an attacker will this update remove it off our devices because Im pretty convinced that I have been attacked by people who are hackers within my area, I had went to police over it but they couldn't help, or just weren’t interested in my issues. My battery seemed to drop down to 93% after 9 months and now after 16 months it's still at 93%.

Why does a black tint fill the side of my screen when i just press on the home screen?

DONT UPDATE !!! My battery was drained like 100% to 0% while I was sleeping

There is a significant temperature pressure difference between macOS 14.0 and 14.1, I now do the same tasks with much higher temperatures in 14.1.Coincidentally, m3 processors came out the day it was released.
The 14 version is more performant than 14.1 and also smoother from what I have observed. 14.1 also has UI crashes.

Update : Apple fixed this problem with the 14.1.1 update

I'm still rocking 10.12.6 on my MBP. I think I will upgrade this Christmas as I'm running into a lot of browser incompatabilities.

I just updated to sonoma 14.1 (clean install), and it seems that my external hard drive that I always have plugged in takes ages to mount, this only happens when the mac reboots or shut down, I know this is normal behavior when you unplug a hard drive without ejecting correctly, but now is happening every time I boot or restart the Mac.

If eject the drive on macOS and plug in again it shows up instant, but if shut down the computer takes ages. It seems its going like a process to check up if everything is okay with the drive and then it mounts, is there a way to deactivate this "check up"?

Apple is ruining the MacOS experience by making it look and work as iOS, is purely disgusting seeing what once was one of the best OS on a desktop turning into an oversized version of iOS wanna be.

You don't have to hit tap back, and you also did not have to prior to Sonoma. Just click and hold on the chat bubble you want to emphasize and the response emoticons will show up. I've been doing that since 2020. Just like on the phone, same behavior.

This update kills illustrator and photoshops toolbar. Known issue seen yesterday to Adobe. Wish i could roll back to the 14 version

The reason the event is 5pm is because they’re doing something with a Japanese game developer, probably Capcom. I’m betting they will release Resident Evil 4 Remake for Mac and iOS on that day, and show it running on the new Macs. If they’re selling ~7 million Macs/quarter, then thats 75+ million Apple Silicon Macs shipped — compare that to Sony PS5’s 41 million units, and from a business perspective it makes sense to bring their games to Mac & iOS since the hardware is now powerful enough.

I don't see right-clicking in iMessages to be any sort of improvement. That takes two hands, including press and hold for the option key. Tapback just takes a tap of two fingers, same hand.

Hey Zollo, I recently bought a Macbook air m2 with 512GB of storage and 8 GB of ram. I have an issue with the UI. The UI seems to shutter and lags often like scrolling through a web page and maximizing and minimizing window. This is not happening 100% of the time but it happens often. Is this normal or ?

I don't know if it's me or not, but my jet drive light 330 is not entirely working for some reason. Yes the card detect it but it doesn't show up on my homepage for some reason.
