The Four Vocal Types: Which One are You?

I've inadvertently been 1,3, and 4 through my years mostly by chance. Never had official training but I knew that some days were better than others for some reason. Now I know but my old self still wants to hold onto pulled chest/high larynx.

Hello chuck! Thank you for this video!🥰 I have taken the vocal type test, but i’m still a littel bit confused about what vocal exercises I should do because I get different results on the test. I typically get the “pulled chest/ high larynx’s vocal type or the “light chest/no chest. My main vocal problems is breathiness throughout my whole range, neck and jaw tension which leave me really squeeze on higher notes as well as running out of breath easily (probably due to the breathy tone) what vocal type exercises do you think I should do?😅

Hi sir, may I ask.

If I can sing in a low pitch with no problem, I don't strain, my voice ain't flat & it's smoothly executed.

But I have difficulty executing when it's in high pitch and when I use falsetto to belt in high notes thinking that it'll enhance my voice or tone register, I strained and my notes went down flat straight and I sounded very airy.

May I ask if this is pulled out chest/high larynx? Or does it mean that I naturally have a lower register?

I'm just an amateur, so a good tips would help me out alot.

Is there such thing as having a non-singing voice? Because i know someone who’s been working on their vocals for years and years and still sound horrible

apparently my voice is mixed. it makes sense, i often do sing in mixed voice. i have no issues singing high or low, though i sound soft on lower notes (so i actively have to go switch to chest so they maintain their stability)

i have a bit of a hard time smoothly transitioning to my lower register so i definitely need to work on that. the test said i'm mixed, but i think i'm flip/falsetto on bad singing days

though i'm glad you also don't refer to vocal type as the typical SATB division. on those terms, i'm a soprano with a slightly extended lower range. the term "soprano" felt too limiting to describe what my voice actually is, so i'm glad you have these 4 different types to describe voices

Misleading title and info. 1 to 3 refer to mistakes beginning singers make, rather than "types." 4 is what you want to be.

people say when i sing normally it sounds a bit husky and cool..but when i started to raise my voice it sounds like someone strangled me..so i lost my confidence and give up to raise my voice and always used head voice and now i hate my voice..I used to love singing since i was 5 years old and now im sad.. I hate doing what i love the most!

Thanks for your vid. Please based on you description of vocal types, how do we call the classification of Altos, soprano, tenors etc? What are they finally not being vocal types? Trying to understand. Came across an opera study that describes the opposite:calling coloratura, dramatic, lyric, lyrico spinto, Helden and falsetto, as being ranges instead. Please clear up the confusion. Thanks

My vocal range is:
D3-D5-D7
I'm more confoftable in my low register
I'm pulling my voice at all times and I wanna learm how to mix but I always break and it sounds like a falsetto note.
My throad always hurts after that happens
So what am I now?

Sir i can sing very high nodes with my chest voice perfectly there is no break and strain in my chest voice even in high nodes but when it comes to felsetto my voice does not sounds breathy but it needs a lot of force to connect and the tension in the neck increases in order to maintain the sound sometimes it breaks to what can i do?

Does that means everyone has their unique vocal type and could never be change ?
Example for a heady singer like samsmith will never sing like bruno mars ? Even when he has been trained the same technique as bruno ?

I'm a male, deep speaking voice, but I can sing in very high pitch naturally but it becomes very breathy when I try and go super low and I struggle to make the notes. Any tipd guys???
