AMP at your service

google ought to answer some of these criticisms, some are out of date or just wrong.

the nicest thing about AMP is saving time -- one set of code for mobile, desktop, PWA. i would not use it paired.

Isn't AMP just Google's private internet garden? It really breaks the fundamental state of the web. It's the main reason I switched to duckduckgo browser on my phone.

AMP is bad for the web.

Why is there still no way to disable AMP on a device?
On a few year old mid range phone it's slow to load, has janky scrolling, takes up more vertical space, uses an iframe, and hides the url. Often the iframe in the middle just crashes.
At least now Google doesn't require amp for sites to appear in the top stories section, so there's really no good reason for anyone to use it.
