Yup, the attacker just going to hold out one strike and freeze just before the stick touches you so you can do all these different strikes on him like he's a dummy. Lol for real stick fighting that's not bullshido look up Dog Brothers. If it doesn't work in full speed full contact, it doesn't work.

I have seen Kali/Arnis teacher/master don different attire but this Kali teacher/master is a cut above the rest.

When I saw the word combat with Filipino martial arts I thought this might be similar to the Brocka-do combat arnis as taught by the late J.Cui Brocka

No block in reality is sound self-defense. Evasion is always better. My experience has shown this to be true. Sometimes the attacks are coming just too quickly to realistically block everyone. Evasion puts you in a better position to counter attack.

I've took Eskrima for self defense I still remember the stick fighting moves 👍. Loved the technique.

I thought it was odd to be teaching stick fighting with a gun and 2 knives on your side.

Rarely any leg kicks. I think there should be kicks, to make the art more complete..not just using the hands.

I love that he has a gun on his leg and at least two knives on his waist. Yes, they’re all training weapons, but what he chose to put on his body, along with the wonderful way he incorporated combat moves with the stick says something about how he’s treating the FMA for the real thing.

I'm not an expert by saw some weaknesses. All attacks and defenses, counter-defenses can be nullified or countered - facts to any martial arts systems including FMA. Some of his counters from diagonal strikes where he did a thrust are not effective, because the speed and the force/vector of the oncoming strike will continue to hit his head (momentum) because they are not blocked. In a real scenario, he may hit the opponent in the stomach or neck, but he is also hit in his head. Also, a very fast redonda, even if it has some weakness or "openings", cannot be easily exploited and insert a strike. And did he say, "There's no block" in Escrima? Sorry, Not a good teaching/technique in this particular scenario, I should say, even if it's for beginners.

I trained in a school, back in the mid 80's, that taught combat instead of art. Those days even the drills were dangerous. Good ol' days, use to come home with welts and bruising every night, but the training and experience I gained from it was, and has been, invaluable. Don't find much of that mind set now days. I miss those days, can't find serious and dedicated people anymore. One of the prices of getting old, the younger generation turns in to weak, undedicated people. I guess each older generation think that of the younger one.

Dude. Pintados? You practice Moro-Style Kali? Pintados were one of the reasons why the American Soldiers have to use .45 ACP 1911 pistols back in the Philippine wars. The Moro Pintados (Painted Ones) were vicious and just kept coming even when shot.
