It is not a dumb test. You are not going ballistic nor scientific, just a regular Joe carry boi would be good just a can of recognized "soda" with the name taped over(unless they pay you) to see the difference with your grip. I am a short guy with short fat fingers so it would help to visualize how you get your hands on them. I am doing my tries on what would fit me and tomorrow I will spend some time in Texas range to try. But it would help if you compare how much your fingers get around or how to describe that.

The shield PLUS is better. I owned both; one stayed and it wasn't the G43x.

Why buy a glock when you have to replace half the gun right out of the box?

How come no one ever mentions the Palmetto State armory micro dagger mag? 15 rounds, fits 43x and no need for a metal mag catch. Also it's only 30 bucks compared to like 40-45 for shield arms mag without even factoring in mag catch price. I have one arriving tomorrow!!!

My next pistol will be the 42 for gun free zones, and then immediately following is the 43xmos. I have been carrying the shield plus or 2.0 shield for a few years! I like both for certain reasons but feel I need the Glock just cuz! Ha

I noticed that you had to reset your grip a lot more with the 43X - after every two shots. Once you got rolling with the Shield, you never reset.

Putting a red dot on a carry pistol is just silly.

I am no expert shooter like you but I didn't care for the feel and grip of the plus...I offered it to my daughter that didn't like it and a few friends that didn't care for it....I had it since it came out and took it to the range each time....I sold it last month..my daughter has a 48 Glock I gave her and I have 43x along with other Glocks so may be just to use to it over plus but just wasn't for 4 of us

I love my 1st gen shield with an apex trigger, so like you I bought the plus as soon as it came out and put a swampfox dot on it. The trigger is so good idk if an apex would be worth the $$. The equalizer 15 rd mag for a spare fits like it was made for it. Love yor content, Keep it up !

I own and have shot both of these pistols for years. I shoot more accurately with the Shield+ and have replaced / switched out more parts on the 43X. For my preference, I end up carrying the Shield+ more often.

They're both fine 9mm pistols, but I will say I like the 43 over the 43x for the same reason you mentioned about the tendency of the 43x grip to wrench out and print when it's appendix carried. I've carried a 19 for a long time and it's really not as "compact" as you might think when you try and conceal carry it. You can always pop on a mag extender if you feel you need more, but for me concealability beats out capacity in this case.

I'm not sure if it's the same on the Plus, but I have an original Shield and the spring is so stiff when I first got it I couldn't pull it back far enough to manually engage the slide stop. I had to put in an empty mag and push & pull the receiver & slide as hard as I could. I was being too gentle in addition to limited strength. That might have something to do with "less recoil".
...but I'm not a physicist or a firearms expert.

Cant go wrong with either. I just prefer the shield plus since I bought one of the first ones back in 2013 or so and it has been 100% reliable and trustworthy. Thousands of rounds and it still looks brand new. Shield plus fit in all the old holsters too. Still like Glock. Its what I started on 30 years ago but really only the 19 (who doesn't), 19x, and mostly just full size 9 models. I think other companies like S&W, Sig, and others do small guns much better than glock.

Owned both. First s&w had a defective firing pin safety. The safety was stuck in the fire position out of the box. Shop was kind enough to swap for another. Finding a smith to swap sights on the smith was a sob. Can’t use regular sight pusher I use on my glocks. I prefer the grip texture of the s&w but Glock won for me.

Appears that you had trouble dropping the slide on the shield plus, twice as I saw it?

I went with the shield plus with a Cyelee Cat X Pro sight and I absolutely love it! I’m looking to grab the Micro Dagger next when back in stock at PSA.

I wore a Glock 48 for a year. Then I bought a hellcat pro. Way better than my G48 in every way. I’ve been wearing my hellcat pro everyday for over a year now. I haven’t looked for the next EDC

How do these stack up against your MC9?

The Glock 43x MOS version (the version in the video) is usually $499 brand new. Whereas the Shield Plus base model (3 Dot Sights/no optic cut) is about $399 at most places. If you're comparing both models with optics cut, they're the same price at $499. Heck, even the base model of Shield Plus would beat the tar out of the 43x.

So my very first EDC, in modern times, was the Glock G48... I liked the longer sight radius over the G43.
Then I shot a Shield Plus... My groups were far better with the Shield... I got one and never carried my G48 again.
My current EDC is a Shield 45, alternated occasionally with a Shield 40, and XD-S 45...
I will add a Shield Plus again soon, and FN Reflex, to my EDC rotation... I just generally prefer 45 and 40 over 9 mm...

First off, AOC provides tremendous and next level entertainment value and should be declared a National Treasure, and secondly all these new guns are lame corporate product to move units for the sake of wall street hedge and trust fund dbags

Nothing micro about these. A tiny single stack like the db9 or my Sig p290rs or the smallest 9mm Kari. Those are micro 9s.

For me, I bounce between the Shield Plus Performance Center 3.1” (it’s such a great shooter for me), and the 365 Xmacro comp.

If I absolutely HAD to choose and live with just one, I’d have to go with the Shield Plus, although I adore how the 365 Xmacro comp fits my hand.

Congratulations on retirement. Here are my “rules for retirement.”
1. Turn off the television.
2. Don’t get in a rut. For example, needing to have your coffee at the same time every day.
3. Have a project. NOT a hobby. A hobby is to help you relax when off work. They don’t work in retirement. In contrast, a project has a goal. For example, fishing is a hobby. Teaching your grandkids to fish is a project. Shooting is a hobby. Getting up to Grandmaster in USPSA is a project.

Good job on the control to buy another pistol just to have it. I find I am looking at older firearms to see if they still meet "the need" as well or as good as needed for the mission instead of trying to beat the older model. AS GOOD is my standard now but I do look to see if I can add improvements on the old dogs. ENTERTAINING.
