"textbook?" I believe the idea is to NOT break the paper face on the sheetrock. 2 of the three screws did...

Only one of those 3 screws from the senco would have passed inspection, other two broke the paper

Tried it. Sucks! Leaves the screw-head too high. Buy it if you don't mind dry-walling with a #2 Philips screwdriver in your tool-belt setting every other screw. Although you might only notice after you started plastering, more fun for you. Yaaaay!

I'm pretty sure the "clutch" action in your video was the Philips driver bit "camming out" of the screw (Philips is designed to do that). The buzz was probably the driver skipping over the screw. It doesn't rely on the drill clutch if you have your drill in the highest torque setting as your DeWalt in the video. Maybe on the lower torque settings it would use the clutch.

I can only get my drill to "clutch" about half the time at the lower torque settings--the other half the time, the Philips driver bit is skipping out.

why is it not magnetic like many others so it would hold the screw ?

Use a magnetic bit holder.

I thinks were Screwed - Jeff actually thinks the drill clutch is doing the magic here.

The most of people in Costa Rica they use the mesh tape instead of paper tape for the joints, but i´m sure is better the paper tape according to what i´ve learned.

Is there much difference between using driver with setter bit vs actual screw gun?

Ответить
@derrcontracting3098
@derrcontracting3098 - 16.02.2021 11:17

is it the clutch kicking in or is it the screw setter slipping on the Phillips head once the screw goes deeper than the screw setter can??

If it spins, it can tear the drywall paper. That means the screw isn't holding. Drywall drills don't spin on the setting part.

With all due respect that brand is absolute garbage. The correct one are the Hitachi brand. The stop should not spend with the bit if it does it will score the paper

you need to work with your 4k camera as the image became quite blurry 2 or 3 times when it switched focus from drill to your finger, sure it must be able to adjust field of depth

Try using them with a screwdriver or a drill with mechanical clutch. Use low speed and experiment with the torque setting. Also keep the dimpler bits protected from getting damaged by coming in contact with other tools/metals so that they won't form sharp edges that may damage the paper. Try using something like the dcf601 12v screw driver with these.

Just stumbled over the video\channel and Im shocked about the amount of advertisement and side tracking. Instead of just showing how this works you try to sell a plastic cutting tool? Probably necessary to hit the 10 min. mark so you can make us watch 3 adverts. Thumbs down

Clutch setting is the key! The idea is ok, for small jobs. But really most jobs are not that small. Especially when hanging ceilings. The longer you spend the more on your back!

Can it be used with anchors? And I was going to get a screw gun but I am watching your video perhaps do you think it would be better to avoid buying the screw gun they seem expensive would the poor man's please tell me if you agree should I just use this bit in my hammer drill instead it will save me money over buying screw gun? Thoughts please thank you
