Crème de La Mer is awesome. I ordered the Nivea crème and I’ll get it this week.

The blue tin Nivea has been my go-to as a hand cream and for dry skin patches. :) Also works as a lip mask at night if you can get behind the fragrance. Always have the big 150mL by the nightstand, and a smaller 30mL puck for when I get out of the house.

The version in my locality has no petrolatum so it is a tad less richer than the one that I have tried that were from the US.

You need the German Nivea that’s the only one I buy!

LET ME TELL YOUUUUUU my story. I had dry FLAKEY skin. My skin would literally fall off like snow if I even scratched it a little bit. I know gross info but I'm sorry.
So, I used expensive face creams before with hyaluronic acid and some many other face creams from the market that were supposed to help the skin barrier. I saw no big difference on my skin honestly and I had to keep reapplying, reapplying, reapplying to have the same effect and keep my skin plumped. So I did have effects but no LONG term effects.
Fast forward to two weeks ago. I am unemployed at the moment so I'm in a tight budget. I couldn't afford my previous face creams. I was in tire need of a moisturizer. My skin was baaad. So, I saw this Nivea cream on the beauty shop. It was like 3 euros and I remembered how my father uses it, my grandma used it religiously and I said to myself "Hey what the hell, it's a face cream what could possibly go wrong?" Bought the cream, gave it a shot.
At the beginning I thought it was a difficult cream to use because it was so THICK and difficult to work with but I really wanted to try it so I applied less every time and massaged my face with it instead of using it the same way I would use my other regular face creams. I had to warm it up first, I had to WORK this cream. Not the easiest I used honestly BUT the results were worth it. By my 3rd use my face moisture balance went to normal. IT HEALED MY SKIN! It healed my flakiness. I am shocked a product my GRANDMA used to use healed my face dryness more than the expensive face creams I used before. And also I don't have to keep reapplying again and again and again like the other expensive face creams. Even after I wash my face with water it's like my face sucked on all the moisture and sealed it and also healed it's natural balance. Now I use Nivea every other day or so because I feel like it's not needed everyday. My face went from dry to normal in just 3 uses. This is crazy to me because Nivea is such a simple cream. It's basically just oils. But for me it was a small miracle in a tin jar. Best 3 euros I've ever spend. Now I'm gonna be like one of those grandma's covering their face with Nivea like crazy but it works! It honestly works long term! The best random blind buy I ever had in my life.


Btw if anyone cares I used the German version not the American Nivea. I'm from Europe anyway so that's what they're selling here so it was easier to find. Supposedly the German version is the superior one.

All in all, if you have dry skin honestly give it a shot. It's super cheap and you can start off by the smallest jar. See how it works for you. Buy the original one. The blue tin jar creme. I used the new Nivea creams aswell and they are alright but nothing beats the OG from the 50's.

If you want lactic acid save money and buy it separately and then buy Nivea.

Nivea in canada is exactly the same as the Nivea in Germany. My husbands family in Germany brought it with them and they were the same as ours here in Canada.

How long does lotion last

So she listed the ingredients, shortly compared them, swatched bboth cream on a hand,and that's it ? That's the comparison ? That's foul.

But la mer jar is very beatyfull

Find a good algae extract, sesame oil, sweet almond oil, and niacin. Apply them before Nivea or make small batches of the complete mixture. Way more affordable and will probably go a long, long way...

Nivea smells like calamine lotion to me 😂 I still use it but it reminds me of my mom treating my mosquito bites with calamine lotion to stop the itching as a kid

Can you actually read? There is a seaweed extract which has a lot of minerals and antioxidants which are not included in the cheap Nivea creme. I know it’s overpriced but Nivea is totally different!

Nivea made in Mexico and made is Germany the content is completely different. Made in Germany Nivea feels more like la Mer.

I used all kind of creams for my face and it didnt hydrate my face,then i used the nivea as a night routine my face feeled good and hydrating

From what I've heard it's not just Nivea itself, but Nivea plus The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics, if you want a dupe for La Mer.

I believe in Nivea, but the problem is those ingredients: Mineral oil? Petrolatum? Paraphin? Big no no!

Nivea Soft is my most favorite lotion by them. Not greasy just hydration.

Nivea makes me breakout so bad, lamer never does. And lamer does smooth out my skin.

Shouldn’t the question be is la mer a dupe for nivea? The nivea cream came out in 1911, la mer in 1965 so if anything la mer copied from nivea and not the other way around.

I use Nivea every day on my hands and cuticles...I cant imagine putting it on my face but I love this review ❤

I use the Nivea cream from time to time and I do have oily skin

I just compare these lol i got a sample from la mer and bought the nivea. I will say it has a 60% similarities, the fragrance absolutely different but both good and light fragrance. The texture it very alike you rub it and it smoothly disappear leaving it same shine and moisture in my opinion the nivea is softer.

If you go to La Mer counter, they will ask you to warm the cream on your palm before applying to face. Same goes to Nivea. Ingredients only activate once you warm and melt them. I got very oily surface and dry inner but after using it for a month, less oily and felt moisture.

I used to have really oily skin and would get pimples all the time. When I started using Nivea blue on my face my skin is so much better. I actually have gotten stopped and random people have asked me what skin care I use. Also if you use Nivea under sunscreen it halps it absorb WAYYY better

I’ve been using Nivea since high school. I love it! I tried other products in between and I always go back to Nivea ❤️💋❣️

The US version is a different formula from the European version. I do not like it.
