I had surgery and I’m still in the exact pain I was in before the surgery! So what does that mean? I’m pretty certain I know!

I had my fibroids surgically removed when UFE didn't help. Actually. UFE was the second plan of treatment when hormone therapy didn't shrink my fibroids or didn't minimize bleeding. So I had UFE in the morning, I was sent home and by 6 PM the same day I was calling 911 due to extreme plain 10/10. I was told that post UFE could be excruciatingly painful. I was admitted to the emergency, scheduled for myomectomy in 24 hours. I made it clear with the doctors prior to everything that I wanted to keep my reproductive organs. The biggest among the 3 fibroids was 13 cm. After the myomectomy, I have never been happier. That was 6 years ago.

I just had hysterectomy due to what was thought to just be a fibroid, but the post surgical pathology report found leiomyosarmoma cancer in the uterus and fibroid material Leiomyosarcoma cancer is very aggressive and difficult to treat. For the record, I had none of signs of cancer (pain, bleeding, change in urinary function, over weight, or bloating) just an enlarged mass. MRI and biopsy could not determine if I had cancer or just a fibroid. Before you decide to leave the fibroid in your pelvic area, ask your gyno if there is a possibility of it being cancer. Leiomyosarcoma cancers are more often diagnosed after they are surgically removed than through any standard diagnostic tests. Sharing my story to warn others. Fibroids don't cause cancer, but can hide cancers.

What causes fibroids? Can we start with that? Is it processed foods? Meat? Dairy? Coffee? Sugar? Alcohol? Bleached rice? All the chemicals in our food that are banned in other countries? What is the fibroid rate outside of the US?

So many doctors will immediately say ‘hysterectomy’ which is irresponsible as that brings other problems. I went natural like the comments on here saying they cut out sugars etc, and mine are gone now. Doctors dont care that much to explain you can reduce them with healthier diet etc.

So are we not going to talk about how a “H” is devastating to someone who don’t have kids that love and want kids? I can’t even write the word it’s too triggering for me. So why are they casually talking about it as if it’s a SIMPLE option? I have multiple friboids, 14+ and I am devastated at the thought of it!

Took 3 different doctors to diagnose me properly 2 out of 3 told me to get pregnant and it would go away. 3rd doctor told me do not get pregnant because I could die or lose the baby...1 month before my removal surgery I almost died...had to get 2 units of blood. Thank god for the 3rd doctor. My fibriod was a size of a grapefruit...and made me look 3 months pregnant...bleeding non stop..cramps everyday. Ladies stay away from birth control. 3 years later I'm pregnant with my first baby everything looks good at almost 5 months. Seek specialist help if youre not getting answers from your doctors

It’s ridiculous that despite 70% of women being affected, there is not preventing or less invasive methods to treat fibroids.

I had a hysterectomy due to fibroids in 2014. Trying to make sure that I didn’t have to deal with any type of “cancer“. In 2017 I wound up having breast cancer 🤦🏽‍♀️ But so far, I have survived everything. If you read this comment, whoever you are, I pray whatever you have to deal with, you have the strength and His mercy to see you through effortlessly and painlessly🙏🏾💐

My fibroids were small and painless. I didn’t know I had them until I started bleeding profusely one day and it wouldn’t stop. Suddenly everyone was telling me their (or their friends and relatives) horrible fibroid experiences. I had been reading that a range of treatment options existed, but friends kept telling me I should just have a hysterectomy which really put me on edge. It was during Covid so it took a while to see a specialist. When I saw the doctor, she told me there was no reason for me to have a hysterectomy and she was able to remove the fibroid vaginally with an outpatient surgical procedure. I also needed iron infusions for anemia. My other fibroids were not in the uterine lining, were very small and beginning to calcify so they could be left alone. A few days after the procedure I felt fine, and have been doing well (actually better than ever) for almost two years. One of the things I learned is sharing your experience with others can be helpful in the right circumstance, at the right time. It can also cause unnecessary anxiety to someone who is already struggling both mentally and physically. Situations are different, and things change. Sometimes the best way to support someone is just being there while they work with the right people to help figure out what’s best for them.

I'm 45 now and I've had fibroids for awhile. I had a myomectomy when I was 26. However, they did grow back. I started doing a lot of research and found out that fibroids LOVE estrogen and a rich blood supply. I have decided to turn to a keto diet, cutting out sugar (this is SO HARD) there's hidden sugar in things I never even thought about, and I have started juicing. I have started exercising to strengthen my pelvic floor, targeting my lower abdomen. I have a tilted uterus and the fibroids have now made my uterus misshapen. Just this year, I have noticed that my lower belly has hardened, and I can feel the fibroids when I lie flat to sleep and that area was raised. I started doing more research and found out about castor oil packs. I have done it twice so far and I'm hopeful that I can shrink my fibroids naturally. After two treatments, my lower belly doesn't feel as hard, so I will continue this until the end of the year, three times a week. I don't agree with doctors with the let's wait and see technique. As women, we need to know our options and what we can do holistically as well as medically.

I am reading that the Medical industry takes out uterus because it can be profitable for big pharma because a woman will need to be on hormones! Please try and keep your uterus ! Other issues can occur with not having it! But if you do it’s your choice and as a woman I support you!!
