Im coming up from the 750D so its the R7 for me. Was tempted by the "R" but after watching this superb vid its definitely the R7.

I still think portrait photos quality looks better in RP than the R10. Problem getting bigger camera like the R7 is most places will want you have permission to shoot photos there or charge you for shooting photos there for having a pro camera gear. While smaller camera R10, they will see more as hobbist. You need to consider the type places you want to shoot photos and the camera best suited for the situation

It's really sad the r10 has been relegated to be the "dad camera" because it doesn't have some features of the r7. In reality, with some skill and good lenses, you can get footage matching the quality of more expensive bodies.
Regarding video, there might be no clog, but the fact there is 10bit helps alleviate that

Is the r7 an upgrade of old famous 7d?

I'm a poor artist, haha not that poor, as i can afford about 1.5k. Any recs for me? I take pics of my paintings mostly. I thought the RP would be a good choice, but then what lens... I have my eye on a Tamron but over budget and now am looking at used for both. Thanks for this video!!!

The RF 50mm 1.8 (for the price) is so dang sharp, I got it for $150. I have it paird to my R6 mkii and WOW compared the the EF I feel like Im shooting with L quality. Great little nifty fifty.

I own an dslr 70D... i'm very happy whith the camera but it's heavy... so ii'm thinking change to the miroless range... but i can't decide between the R10 and the R7... Knowing the tree camaras as you do (70D / R10 / R7) wich one was your choice?

You can't compare the R7 to the budget RP or the R10. The R7 is far Superior to both these budget cameras!

As someone who loved the Canon M6 MkII the R7 is literally the perfect upgrade. Same or better specs in every category. Makes shooting wildlife much easier.

One major issue for me is how Canon intimidated third party lens makers by suing them over patent infringement for the R-Series autofocus system in thei R-Series mount. The end result is that those third parties have moved over to Sony and produced a very wide series of affordable lenses for the alpha series of Sny cameras. I could be a decade or more before Canon will consider licensing their R-series munt by then it won't matter since Canon will be relegated to professional corporate applications and the consumer market will likely be dead due to Canon lense being twice the price of third-party lenses and by the extremely limited selection of R-series lenses. Its a year later and we have seen almost no development of new lenses by Canon. What they do have are more expensive than the cameras themselves. It has forced me to go to an iPhone 15 since for 1500 I can get 90% of the capability for 1/3 of the total price. The phone is good enough for commercial work (Look at Apples behind the scenes where they have a professional crew making their product announcement presentation on an iPhone 15 and about $500,000 of support equipment that would accompany any commercial professional level shoot)

Have been waiting for a truthful response about the new mirror less technology changes. Time to box up my 7D Mk2 w/ BG + access. Looks like a R7 w/ Eos to RF adapter is on my Xmas list.

Just as a side note if buying the R7. If you are going to adapt ef lens just be carful that the lens has enough reslove, as i run into this problem when i got my 90d which also has a high megapixel sensor.

I'm new to the whole photography game and got into it wanting to shoot wildlife and for jet spotting (i.e. fighter jets). I went with the R10 with the RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM kit lens. I then bought a EF 75-300mm F4-5.6 IS USM with a Meke Drop in ND (ND3-ND 500 & drop in clear) filter mount adapter and a Valtrex EF-EOS R Auto Focus Mount EF/EF-S Adapter. I also ponied up for the RF 100-400mm F5.6-8 IS USM for it. I literally went to Canon, B&H, and a few other chat rooms to inquire about being able to jet spot and what budget camera they'd recommend. Hands down was the R10 and followed closely by the R8. The R8 was a bit out of my budget range but is something I'll be looking at in the not to distant future.

In terms of stabilization the R7 seems like a really good option. I'm considering to save a bit more for an R7. Will EF lenses give me any disadvantages if I adapt?

I'm considering upgrading from my old EOS 700D and am confused between the R7 & the R8. I want to upgrade to full-frame to capitalize on the great EF lenses out there but the R7 has some nifty additional features too.

Are you going to do an R7 vs R8 comparison, possibly with sample images?

I'm stuck between 2 cameras, I go to a bunch of airshows and whatnot and want to know what camera would be better Canon R10 or 90d? I currently have the Sl3 which with only 9 autofocus points is just awful for fast-flying jets... I do have a Canon EF 70-300 USM lens but I don't mind buying an adaptor if I need to.

Anyone knows? which is the best quality for crop mode 4k60p video? I just want to know the quality just for 4k60p crop mode

Question for you: if you had to choose between the R7 and the R8, which would you chose? I’m loving the dual card slots and bigger battery in the R7 but worried about it being a crop sensor vs the full frame in the R8.

i think i get the R10 intsead of the R7, i got a deal R10 + the canon 100-400mm for the same price like the R7 Body, so i think its a good deal and R10 is fine i think

Regards the battery, I found that the battery from my 5DS fits my R7. I bought the R7 with the 18-150mm kit lens to travel with, and I am disappointed with the lens, so will suck up the extra weight, an buy a 24-102mm f4L lens for our next vacation.

Canon RP is indeed a very underrated camera. For someone like me who uses only MF vintage lenses, RP is a great choice. Besides, the color science in RP is still like those of older version cameras like Canon 5Diii which is a plus. I can easily shoot at ISO 12800 and get clean and sharp images. I used to have SONY A7Riii, Leica M240 and SL and to me RP is yet the best.

I went from a R10 to a R7 to a R6 and decided to go back to the R7 🎉 I love how versatile it is 👌 better reach than the R6, better battery life, better at macro photography(you get closer), in-body bracketing, higher megapixel for cropping.

I went r10 I was worried i would have buyers remorse but i got it refurbished from canon with the kit lens and a 55-210 lens with 2 year warranties on everything for under 1000….. I mean it’s pretty perfect

This is important to me for vlogging etc. The RP would be useless to me.

You said you probably would say the image quality was similar. You have all 3 cameras there how about taking some photos and seeing where the noise becomes unacceptable for you.
