Intel architecture is the problem when it comes to heat problems. Intel needs a new architecture. They’ve hit the proverbial wall with their present architecture. HWmonitor is terrible Jay…….HWinfo is a much better choice.
ОтветитьI set the clock speed on 4.6GHz and i have the same issue with the lock clock speed and i try to do to set balanced mode on energy settings in windows 10 but the clock speed still set at 4.6GHz even when i do that
Anyone knows how to fix it?
Can you make a video just like this for 14900k and Apex Encore bios?
ОтветитьBut Jay pls tell me what about yours Load Line Calibration level ?? 🤔
Ответитьthis helped a lot with my 14700k, Thank You Jay :D
ОтветитьCan you remake this with 14900?
ОтветитьNot working for me😢
ОтветитьI am watching this after three years and trying to learn...building a rig but these things above me, I was thinking of getting 13900kf but temperatures are still messy with intel, u need a decent cooler, watch those temps, undervolt if necessary maybe overclock if you need? Jeez I realized this is too hard for me and I guess I will just buy a 7800x3d and stick to gaming only. Better temps and power consumption. Even if I want to learn these things it's risky for me.
ОтветитьMy 5600x right after installation would go to 84-86 max on heavy games (cpuid running on back to track max temp); now, after 1 year, if I don't reduce the voltage and clock, it crashes on win boot; I can't even use it in the default settings.
I got the voltage and clock lock to 1.1 and 4000 to reduce the temperature, but it still goes high like before, even a bit higher (maximum 89 on games), but at least it doesn't crash the system.
Is it normal that after a year the cooling would get much worse and the CPU would overheat like this? I just cleaned the cooler and the case; it didn't help. The PC is alway open.
Not sure if youll ever see this comment but any ideas why my games sometimes restart windows, same game works perfectly. Other days soft resets when i get into a game, game starts playing sometimes first or second menu then crash restart? I dont get it unless its driver issuses. Everything has tessted good, 7800x3d, 6950 xt, 8 fans argb, aircooled ak620 about to be a peerless assassin maybe, 3 ssds, ones a sata, 1000 w dark power 13. No overclocking yet since i started with 4 sticks 16 for 64 gb ram, obviously 3600 its running right now, gonna remove two just not yet since evrything was running fine for 3 days no upgrades or updates to get in the way. Idk....🤐
ОтветитьEasiest way to understand power your CPU but leave your GPU without anything complicated is to go under power options under processing state and change all the maximum to 50% as under games under load barely use like 20-30% of your CPU and just adjust it when you get any slow downs when normally using your PC my CPU temps went from 96 C to only 50 C and games run even better now as no thermal throttling and then can even overclock your GPU
ОтветитьExcellent video Jay. I've been learning something new from your videos for years. 👍
Ответитьi used to overclock all my cpus hitting with my best acheezement being 5ghz on my 4790k and it was so satisfying for me when i found it was stable at 5.2 but like nowadays do you actually need to overclock? is it worth it? like im sitting pretty on a stock cooler on a 5600x and i have zero issues feeling like i need more power... im only on a stock cooler becuase my h110i pro rgb white died on me silently and almost murdered my pc but i found the stock cooler is more than adequate for what i use my pc for right meow
ОтветитьA little frustrating. Finally get to the bit about voltages... and i=when it comes to where and what to set... skipped it basically. Same for precise explanation of 'what' the voltage 'fix' is taken from. Little frustrating. Mainly becuase otherwithe the video is so damn superb
ОтветитьWhat about other voltages like SoC and such. Can they be played with in the same way?
ОтветитьThis is more useful in a laptop then a desktop
ОтветитьHi, what is a monitor mount?
ОтветитьThank you! I just undervolted my ROG Maximus Hero z790, i9-13900k. (4090 RTX, Win11)
I didn't know Cinebench was a free program. Wonderful CPU stress test.
Stats: Passmark 11627.2 > 11452.6, lowered Core v to 1.41000, Upped temp warning to 95C, HWinfo 5800mhz > 5500mhz
It seems that while my RAM and "RAID 0" scare went down, my GFX score actually went up. Which is better for my gaming. A welcome surprise.
And, yes, I do remember you saying that over the week I should keep tweaking and see how high I can approach the limit.
Bro this does not explain shit.
ОтветитьGreat tutorial. In Cinebench I got up to 12.6°C cooler with a set voltage of 1.2v and 10 less wattage at 4.4ghz. Cinebench score went from 10,687 to 10,937.
Ответитьhi Jay.. my CPU doing some static noise when reaching 4,00GHZ and more
its pretty annoying .. even when browsing it happen
I have my 5950x at 4000mhz at 1.096 core voltage I play csgo and don't do crazy task so I feel it's more then enough
ОтветитьPretty hard to get the same things work on a msi motherboard, cannot find any tutorial explaining a simple undervolting for my i7-10700KF.
ОтветитьOne Love!
Always forward, never ever backward!!

Does it cause cpu degradation I’ve been hearing that aside from ocing it?
Ответитьdoes X.M.P work for dell laptop
ОтветитьBeen pulling my hair out why my temps were all over the place on 5950x on idle, and now i find out that having Windows Virtualization On bring it back those 59 to 65 temps in games like DayZ and Warzone, without it off temps go 70c to 80c with Core Performance Boost on with PBO on auto, but with Having CPB auto and PBO Manual just with Motherboard setting stays around 70c at load and Boost to Over 4.9hz with only XMP enabled no voltage touched
Ответитьtweaking sucks
ОтветитьMy VDDCR voltage reading in AI Tweaker is much lower that what my Core Voltage Monitor says...why is it like that?
ОтветитьI got a HP Notebook with a "Intel Core i7-1255U" CPU (HP Laptop 15s-fq5775ng) recently [October 2022]. It's fan gets pretty loud from time to time, even with decent tasks (NO gaming or even video editing!). I have to keep it, since I missed the 14-day return period. :-( Is there a way/ or software tool to set the FSB or clock to a lower range, because calculation power is not my concern. Thanks in advance!
ОтветитьMy aorus board doesnt even have option for cpu voltage input
ОтветитьMy r7 5700x is 59-69 at idle, is that ok or not??
Ответитьpx vpsh
ОтветитьThank you so much for this. Tinkering around with the voltages (even though the bios is completely different) fixed my throttling issues
Ответитьis it possible to undervolt 2nd gen cpus?
ОтветитьI dropped the temps on my 12900k by 20c. Thank you so much.
ОтветитьI think i am just dumb because I didn't hear him explain how to undervolt
Ответитьfirst he had 70° after doing all that staff he got 80°..... basicly this video is useless. he was just rush it to make some video.
ОтветитьI’ve been messing with the i9 10900k and it’s been a pain. It’s showing 94 on the SP but it will not overclock to 5.2 without 1.36volts causing temps to go up to 91c during cinabench r23 runs I’ve had to just give up and set an all core 5.1 at 1.31volts and that’s still peaking at 85-86c after 12 runs. I’ve set my LLC and cpu to best case scenario but it’s still not stable unless I give it 1.36 at 5.2
ОтветитьI wish I saw this 2 weeks ago, took me a good week of troubleshooting and testing, i5-12600K @ 5.2Ghz P-core, 4.0Ghz E-core, 44 Ring Bus. What a pain in the ass with these 12 series, the temps were high I thought I was mounting, applying paste wrong, wtf....
ОтветитьThank you Mr Jacy for this tutorial i usei in my i910900kf thanks a lot
Ответитьreally confusing video
ОтветитьThe information in this video seems to have helped my CPU (Ryzen 7 5800X) overheating issue. I've had it for six months, but the problem just started last week. I had not made any changes to the system in the BIOS, etc., but for some reason, it was overheating. Thank you, Jay!
ОтветитьFunny story with my pc:
I had 79C after 2 minutes of cinebench, tried to undervolt and got 74C after the test.
Unfortunately the pc crashed a lot, so i changed the voltage to auto again (factory setting).
After that i expected like 80C again, but to my surprise i somehow got 71C???
I mounted another cooler that came with my case and now i get 69C. Nice
I think that VID is what the individual cores request or want to get VCORE is the actual voltage supplied by the MB to the CPU.
ОтветитьI do this as well to my 10980xe, the only downside to this method is now our Vcore is higher than it needs to be at idle because it's fixed at 1.175v.
At stock and idle, the Vcore would normally be below 0.900v.
I do not know, and would like to know, if fixing the Vcore like this would cause CPU degradation over time.
Just set my undervolt today Using an h150i and a 12900k on a z690 aorus xtreme with a -.65 adaptive offset with energy efficient turbo on and a E core ratio of 40 I got 27809 in r23 with a max temp of 75° C
ОтветитьCan I run a fixed 4.2Ghz at 1.18v on my 3900X with out any consecuenses. I runs cooler and consumes less power that If I run it in auto, on auto it likes to overvolt getting notisably hoter.
Ответить
