Fujifilm XT5 Review (after 6 months of use)

Hmm, I’m leaning towards the conclusion that 40mpx is overkill for a cropped sensor.
Once you go this size, why not go full frame and similar or higher resolutions?
This is the one thing that is keeping me from embracing the X-T5, ironically the new camera has me looking the alternatives X-T4, or X-S10/20. Just the idea of shooting RAW+JPG on crop with these file sizes strikes me as ridiculous.😊

Does it connect up well with other devices? I know not all use it in this manner, but I have the X-T20 and its connectivity issues does my head in to the point where I use it less than I would like. Again some people like pulling out a SD card and spending hours processing. I do not.

Were you in focus priority or release priority on the subject detection tests with the dog? This same "subject moving towards the camera" was an area another popular YT'r had trouble with false positives. Haven't heard back from that one either. I'm curious if release priority would perform better than focus priority in this situation.

As an X-T3 owner recently upgraded to the X-T5 I wish they’d kept the photometry dial where it was and left video on the left hand side, as part of the drive mode. But then I never shoot video. Everything else is working out very well.

I am looking at upgrading from X-S10 to X-T5 or X-H2. I am not too hung up on retro style etc. Need your opinion please on whether there is any difference between X-T5 & X-H2 auto focus performance? Or the firmware update brings them at par?

After many years of suspending my beginner / enthusiast photography journey with an EOS 450D, I am now looking for a new camera to get back to the hobby and leave the iPhone a bit. I was planning to buy a Canon R8 but i had also X-T5 in my mind. Your video helped me to lean towards X-T5 a lot but I am still not sure if the full frame and cheaper price of R8 are things that I should not give up.

Thanks. A question: Is the on/off-button a little bit more stiff like the previous models? I would appreciate that since any other Xseries model annoyed me in that single aspect. That means that when I went out for a photo walk or, even worse, a photo job, I often accidently switched the button to "on" when putting my camera into my bag. And meanwhile, when I arrived at the location, the battery were drained.

I hope the X-T6 has a fully articulating screen like the X-T4. The tilty screen suuuuuuuucks.

Question: Did any one manage to setup a wireless transfer of photos from the sd card to a windows pc?
I just fkn' hate what Fuji did with it's X acquire/Fuji AutoSave, which just...don't work. Seting up the phone transfer is a nightmare...I just want to upload my raw photos from the camera to a specified folder on my windows PC...why is so god damn impossible to do? HELP!

Ive been looking at this camera for months. I was so excited when I saw the design with all of the dials!! Reminded me of my older film cameras. And then, Fuji even said "photography first" !!!!!! AND THEN, I saw this video, and Im sold. Im trading in a Canon I just bought 5 months ago. I can't wait. Next, lenses..... this is a whole new system for me. ❤❤❤❤❤

This video is super helpful although it didn't actually make my choice easier. 😅 I have an older Canon DSLR with a fully articulated screen and while there's a lot of attractive things about the X-T5, I think the articulated screen is probably going to have me saving some money and going with the X-T4. I mostly shoot through the viewfinder anyway, but when I need it to get that weird angle on some tiny clump of moss or something, I need it....

For a camera that’s supposed to be photography focused having a physical still/video switch over a photometry switch makes zero sense, as does the tiny buffer.they just can’t help themselves can they,🤷‍♂️

Thanks. I'm trading in my X-T4 for the X-T5 today. I'm looking for the higher sensor resolution as I am a pixel peeper and often crop to get the shot with wildlife.

So Fuji downgraded xt3 to xt5 and i stay by xt3.

too much resolution for a small sensor, silly tbh with moire noise than previous models. its like fuji have given up and tried to target the camera phone market

I had an X-T1 for a few years, which I loved, though I wasn't satisfied with the low light resolution. So I jumped on a 2nd hand H1, with that fab enormous EVF (I wear spectacles) and IBIS. But it was way too large, and the X-T2,3,4 were too large too! So out it went and I've bought me a new X-S10, because of, well, the IBIS, the better sensor and the small size! And I really like how the rear display can tilt too. And the grip is just BIIIIG, the camera can literately hang on the tips of 4 fingers, even with the large F2.8 16-55 lense !!!! The much cursed PSAM button never really bothered me. I'll watch your video to see if it's worth upgrading to the X-T5, which finally (!) has the same size (again) as the X-T1.

Would love your view on the following if you have time. Buying an XT5, what would be best option? Buying body combo with the 16 - 80 f4. Body and second hand 90mm f2 or maybe body and one of the Viltrox 1.4/1.2 lenses?

I'm using a vmount battery for my x-t3 so battery life is no longer a problem lol.

thank you for your videos! I just bought xt5 & xt 40-150 lens which is a super setup. i have set ois on lens & in cam menu for photos on. But video menu its greyed out. what have i overlooked!? thank you!

How's the XT5 buffer compare to X-S20? Is it better than XS20? Thanks
