I think overall i prefer the new ones. there were some I liked the old ones, but some of the new ones did drop some visual effects that would make the new model even better.

I so badly want to see the actual undead racial buildings, not just the neutral campaign stuff. And the night elf buildings too. And the units! I wanna see.
I like how each building has its own unique destruction animation. Like the voodoo tent crumpling, and the towers falling. Cool little detail instead of the same explosion animation for every one lol

wtf?! those power generators are DALARAN doodads (or if my memory is a bit wacky at least human/elven themed 'tech'), u even see those non-horde runes around the base, there is NO SENSE in adding horde banners onto them if they r placed where they were in WC3 Reign of Chaos.....

The frozen throne is shit we can't even see ner'zul and i can already tell if they don't change it it's gonna look really weird in the cut scene.

I think it would be more fun if they make the naga a permanent race in the game that way I can choose to play naga more often

Why do destroyed buildings look like they didn't put enough glue to stick them together? Like the glue failed?

I just have this really bad feeling like because of how would you say - The high fidelity of detail/animations of the newer models along with in-game stat differences might make Warcraft 3 Reforged play completely Different from WC3... I'm not so positive about whether this will be a good thing or a bad thing.

While they have done a great job in many ways... I'm not so keen on the more isometric angle they seem to be putting everything on... it just makes me think of all the mobile strategy games that have a similar art style somehow, but maybe that feeling will go away after playing it for a bit.... and like many others have brought up, I'm not that keen on the whole desaturation thing either. It shouldn't be too hard for them to adopt a more "realistic" style but still maintain those vivid colours that impacted so much of the visual feel of the game.

The gras texture looks way to big and makes all the bilding look way smaller. They should scale that down. Also all the reforged stuff has way less contrast then all the original models.

I think the Frostmourne pedestal look kind of meh, compared to the old one, which felt more impressive, magical and powerful. The new one is just a dark old sword on a small pedestal, which doesn't really convey that "Most epic artifact in Warcraft lore" message very well.
Also, it breaks the lore, as it should be fully incased in ice, since it is a shard of ice broken off the frozen throne itself.


I think many of these models suffer from these very same issues. The models are detailed and beautiful, the team did an amazing job, but in an RTS less is always more. The simplicity and bright colors of the original make the game much more stylistic and clear, which is exactly what a game like W3 needs. I am worried that once we play the game and have our screens full of buildings and units, with all the detail and realistic coloring and shadows, the clutter will make the battlefield more difficult to navigate and control for the player.


Either way though, I am looking forward to the new cinematics and campaigns!
