ОтветитьSecond comment. Thanks a lot , Mr !
ОтветитьHey Caleb what mic and stand do you use?
ОтветитьI've been following your content for a while now and just wanted to say thanks for teaching me c++. You're the first developer I ever watched a video on and now it's been over a year of building things I never thought I could.
ОтветитьWhat also worked for me 7 years back (when I was starting with dev and I wanted to get into a big company), was to get a job I was not focusing on. I wanted a different job, but was fine with other kind of job with lower requirements in the same company. After some time there was a need to fill a job position I wanted and they will always prefer to just move you inside the company then to create a job posting and do another price and time consuming job posting process.
Not saying you should grab anything they have, I went for a position that I just was not really interested in, but I did not hate it or anything like that. And it helped me check out the company too, if I want to work there, get some contacts and experience etc. I am still working at that company, at the job I wanted all along and I am very happy there.
Thanks ❤
ОтветитьI really love that notion part, Cheers from Egypt!
ОтветитьHow much rejections you ve got?
Give us fallen little support 😁
I found you from your series about database (I suppose you were a lot younger in the series) and I love how you deliver the message to your audience :) Great!
ОтветитьYou back !!! Please make typescript vids
ОтветитьPerfect timing, I'm looking for a job.
ОтветитьCan I see your CV? Because I want to learn from it.
Ответитьit is a fun and useful topic
ОтветитьCan you please do a video about how to get your first internship in software engineering with very basic knowledge
ОтветитьYou could stop waving your arms, it's a little annoying. Thanks!
ОтветитьI need to get something new.
I currently work as a fullstack Django developer.
The problem is:
- I don't think I really care to build websites :/
-The developer I work with doesn't want to learn anything new. He jumped from pizza delivery to this job and he's been here for 12+ years. He's very complacent.
- My boss is non-technical and not punctual. He's very imprudent.
- The code base is baddd. Lots of repeated logic. Underscores in all java code, JavaScript code, and slugs. Repeated code and CSS all throughout. I'm picking up bad practices like hardcoding strings and adding unnecessary logic, etc.
The pay is good ($60,000). There aren't any pay raises or levels to this company. We're a 4 man show. The communication is bad.
That said there are some benefits:
- *Unlimited PTO.*
- No one cares. (i.e Someone died? No one cares. Need 3 days off? No one cares. Need some work to do? No one cares.) This is can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it.
- Lots of down time to learn whatever I want
- VERY laid back
- No one is toxic
What do you think man? I've had the dream of becoming an iOS dev for so long now and I feel like I keep putting it off :/
I don't know if I should settle for another web dev job or keep grinding on the iOS dream.
