ALIEN ROMULUS 2nd VIEWING PROVIDES MUCH MORE TO TALK ABOUT!

Just got back from watching it...
Started off really good...I had mediocre hopes going into it and the first third hyped me up more and made me think they had actually done it.
...Then...
when are filmmakers going to be able to tell the story they want to in a way they want to...studio interference and fucking Easter eggs and nudge,nudge wink,winks derailed what could have been a good movie again.
Massively let down and disappointed (I was definitely catfished)

Meanwhile, here's the danger in getting a turntable setup for the 1st time in years... I said I would only play the remnants of the collection I already have, & not get back on the record-buying treadmill.
So there's no logical explanation for why I just bought 8 vintage Jerry Goldsmith albums & 2 John Barrys & 1 green vinyl Hammer score compilation.
Completely off the rails. I used to own 6 of those albums in the 1st place, till 1990. I think I'm purchasing the past wholesale, Goldsmith's just the excuse.

One thing to keep in mind when you start seeing trailers for the inevitable sequel: the studio/Ridley Scott have really meddled in and mucked this one up and it is still making money. That means they will think this is the kind of slop we all want.

I never seen the director's cut of Alien 3, I've only seen the theatrical version and I enjoy that version tbh. I do like Alien 3, yeah it has it's problems killing off Newt and Hicks and facehuggers coming out of nowhere but once I get passed that I enjoy the ride with Ripley.

A steaming pile of dogshit. Even if you end up downloading it illegally you'll regret wasting the download data. And there has clearly been a huge paid influencer campaign to say this was great.

Maybe when it comes to dvd/streaming we will get a unrated version

Oh yeah and correct me if I'm wrong but how is it just a cut produces enough blood to eat through 3 decks of a ship but Andy can stand over scorch and empty fuck knows how many rounds at point blank range into his head and all you get is steam? Where's all the acid there?

That's my main problem with the alien sequels the more we learn of the alien the less unique it becomes
The original we knew naff all of its origins so it was so creepy and unknown now it's becoming just cannon fodder like every other monster

Reasons for not including Rook there could be because they were waiting on special effects or possibly that they wanted to keep the reveal secred and avoid leaks.

Watched it yesterday night and thought it was ‘ok’ not great but not bad either! I was actually enjoying it up until the zero g attack scene and that’s when it kind of went off for me but yeah it felt like the Force Awakens of the Alien franchise. Copy & paste of previous films with a large slice of fan service, I didn’t mind ash/rook but the majority of his cg face looked ridiculous, the same outfit and same lines didn’t help! 😂 I couldn’t care less about any of the other characters though felt like a very young generic bunch of no-one’s really. I left the cinema feeling like the whole thing had been too sign posted started off in Alien, Tyler’s death and the zero G scene straight out of aliens even with a Ripley 2 pulse rifle firing close up, then into Alien resurrection with the human hybrid ending in the Prometheus black goo engineer baby slenderman (which looked ridiculous). The ‘get away from her line’ and the convulsed way of getting it into the film sums up the whole thing, they wanted certain scenes & lines and built a movie around it to achieve that. Although saying all that …. I probably will buy it & watch it again 😂 it did look, feel & sound like an alien film and maybe that’s enough in this day & age after so many terrible remakes and rehashes. Just watched on cinema.... yeah solid decent.......nowt new...but I like the way it retroed stuff...the tech was great....................slotted right between 1 and 3 movie Too many repeats of 1 and 2...........it became tiresome

I found Romulus a pretty Average Film for the Average Film goer and there's nothing wrong with that but for people who want a little more intelligence, creativity and originality in their films, it won't work for them.

I really wanted to like Romulus and found some positives like the set designs and practical Alien effects but as an actual film it just didn't work for me. It did start off well on the Jackson's Star Colony and i really wanted to see more of that world and how Rain and Andy survived in it but after they docked on the Romulus and it became a "Best of" Alien movie, it started to go downhill very fast for me. Not only were the rest of the characters very forgettable but the dialogue at times was actually embarrassing and the fact they included the "Get your hands off her" line just summed up how devoid of ideas this film actually became.

Thought Alien was a awful story hated it so much, killed off Hicks and Newt and Killed of Ripley straight away, zzzzz great great acting all over by actors for sure, awful story , the worst of the LOT FOR ME, And love the ALIEN Universe they created, ALIENS IS The best film for me (10/10), liked Prometheus and Alien Covenant too both were ok a little good not great at all, 7/10 films for me, Alien was very good, 7.5/10 for me and Alien Resurrection was good right up till the ending which was average, I don't connect those AvP to the Alien Universe

Want to see the next film please after Alien: Covenant, be great with David 8 on route to Origea - 6 and also think they should show some Bio engineers on route to David 8 too after seeing what he done to their humans they created on Planet 4.
I think they should or could show the new Japanese owners on Route to David 8 to Origea - 6 to add onto the colonizing of Origea - 6 and in the last act they all will clash with each other for all different reason's, The Bio engineer's for revenge, the Weyland Yutani owners for survival and David 8 Xenomorphs for there new Caved homes on Origea - 6 , could be a great end clash , think they could show new Yutani Androids too, think it could be so great and stylish to have Japanese people inserted and show in this Alien universe

I don’t go to the theatre very often. Probably 3 times since 2012, so I had high hopes for Alien: Romulus. Walked out of the theatre disappointed as all hell. I’m glad people enjoyed it, but it likely means more slop for the future.

Love the first 3 number 4 i liked it but the end spoiled it for me. Hated the prequals hate this new one too. i was LOLing in the cinema with most of the people in there. the 40th anniversary shorts where all better then this movie

I'm with you on Alien 3, I've only see the theatrical version and I like it. I liked how Ripley not only had to deal with the alien, but had to deal with the scumbags of the prison and the musical score by Elliott Goldenthal is up there with some of the best soundtrack from the series in my opinion.

This was Alien: the Force Awakens. The boss-girl even had her a fawning black sidekick. Callback after callback after callback and then the final monstrosity at the end because you gotta have that, don’t ya? Absolute garbage.

People acting like they expected a Stanley Kubrick movie or something. Alien has ALWAYS been just a well produced monster movie.. People whined when they tried something new with Prometheus and now because the producers went back to the original esthetic the 'True Fans' have seen through this movie because it did more of the same. 😂The movie was good ... Did you really expect it to reinvent the wheel? It did what an Alien movie needed to. Stop watching these franchises if you don't want to see familiar stuff. Production design was off the charts good, I was involved with the characters, the pacing was solid, the score was good. "Waaaahhhhh... it had too many callback lines... Waaahhh, the CGI on the android Ash didn't look good.. Waaaahhhh ... You're not intelligent if you had fun with this movie... You're not a TRUE FAN!" 😂Give me a break with these people.

There was alot that I really liked. Cinematography was stunning, set design was absolutely fantastic. Loved the score and the overall atmosphere of the film. But I had a few issues with it. Might need to wait for a second viewing to fully form my thoughts.

My biggest gripes with it are
A. They wasted the Big Chap
B. The Offspring design..so derpy

Packed twice I saw It...

I loved it on first view , but picked up so much more on the second view.. hoping for a Director’s Cut when released 🙏🏼 I’ve no doubt they will do a sequel that will likely tie in what happened with David then move the franchise forward to new pastures imo.

Yeah i went to IMAX cinema in Waterloo central London at 11.30pm thinking i would practically be alone and well i wasn't and the people behind me kept on kicking my chair and continued to do so despite my stairs of d@ath sdo i;m going back to see it this weekend and i will book a seat with no one behind or infront.

I really liked this but my god the over use of exact lines and parallel scenes just left me thinking am i watching a carbon copy of hits of the 4 movies and prometheus that i really like by the way just covenant was a hugely bad rehash of Aliens but yeah the overuse of the nods back to all the movies just really stopped me from walking out with a blown mind of this film also one gripe i have as i am in the industry as a film colour grader why where the closeups of the Xenomorphs in Alien and most of Aliens they lurk in the shows and left in the shadows which emphasised the Xenomorphs horror but in this film i felt more afraid by the facehuggers than the Xenomorphs. This just made the fanservice very forced and that again just spoiled it for me a good example of balanced homage paying and having an original vibe is TopGun Maverick only 2-3 lines that were very much in context and one scene recreation at the beginning only 4 nods ot TopGun out of the 2hr sequel movie was done as opposed to Fede's continued nod after nod after nod with no original vibe like Maverick did.

I loved Andy his character was brilliant and the actor that played him did a great job portraying two versions of the same character and aside from the above i really love the cinematography the sets and some of the characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, I was entertained! Regardless of the issues later in the film.

I want to see another Spaceship with the new Owners of Weyland Yutani, have Japanese owners on route to link up with David 8 android to also colonize that Planet Origea - 6.
Also with new Yutani Androids in the role of David but for the new Japanese owners , like maybe like 50 of them, also they are to help set up the New Colony on Origea - 6.
When they link up with David 8 they all get along but they find David 8 sick development of the Black goo, then they in prison him.
Also would like to see the Bio Engineers coming to hunt down David 8, with Walter in tow too heading to Origea - 6.
Then in the last third act we will see the Bio Engineer's kick off with David 8 and his Xeno's he has created in the back ground.
It be so epic with the Androids of Yutani the body guards with Samurai swords and all androids fighting two handed being Androids, against the Bio engineers and the xenomorphs!!! could be a great little war kicking off with three life forms ( the humans, the Engineers and the xeno's and the Androids, and they should write it as that David 8 knows he needs to get a bio engineer to create his Queen Alien.

Alien: The Queen. It could be the new owner of the Weyland Yutani company and is a actual Japanese Queen and is on board of her Spaceship!
Alien: The Ark of the Covenant. The Japanese owners, with a new spaceship stocked with lots animals embryo's.
Alien: Her Majesty.
Alien: Yutani's World. Just want to see the story carrying on ya know,
Alien: Lazarus. Walter's return maybe, Walter being brought back to life by the Bio engineers who see what David has done. and go on the hunt of David, just a few idea's ,
Like to see NEW STUFF in the Alien universe. They have covered a lot already, Space truckers, Army of Space marines, Horror film, done the action film, now done young adults in Romulus and done a Prison set in that Universe and also done that Space pirates scavenger's , think it would be great to see the Japanese side of the Alien universe, it could be so slick and so so stylish if done right.

I've followed your channel for a few years now, but I don't think I've ever seen you drinking anything but whisky and sometimes beer (as far as alcohol drinks are concerned). We all have the drinks that we favor, but do you at all drink vodka/clear spirits, brandy, wine, ciders etc?
