i really like the video and all the steps they are really effective but how the hell can i get emotionally invested in physics or math🥲🥲
ОтветитьI love your ideas though, just that speed id fatigueing
ОтветитьWow you talk fast hahaha
ОтветитьAs a moron i will try this 😂
ОтветитьYou're amazing! I have learned more about myself and my own learning habits in one of your videos, than I have in my whole schooling life. Subscribed and looking forward to more content.
ОтветитьCould the title be changed? It's hard to send a tip clip to a loved one entitled "you're not stupid.." (Who said I was stupid?)
ОтветитьPeople in my life made me believe that I was stupid for such an incredibly long time, now in my late 30's I've been given the opportunity to learn computer science and programming. Wish me luck.
ОтветитьThis method sounds similar to Luhman's method for recording one's learnings into a network of related concepts.
ОтветитьHave to say, I see myself in you. I think the same way when it comes to things in general If I don't like something I can't be bothered. if Im researching something I love or being a dog with a bone going after principal I could spend hours days weeks down that rabbit hole
ОтветитьI didn't get the point about the false deadlines?
ОтветитьWhat strategies, steps and tools do you use to create your videos? I really like how you tackle difficult/potentially boring topics in a way that creates interest.
ОтветитьExcellent job at explaining and articulating your methods. I wish all the teachers in the world could see your videos to inspire them to create more engaging classrooms. You have a new subscriber here.
ОтветитьI love your content, but girl you speak so fast lol
Ответитьtotally loved your take on it!!! wow... all of it
ОтветитьThat quote by Sonke Ahrens...I used to be that way when I was younger, I wish to get back that creativity.
ОтветитьThis was beautiful. You explained a lot of things that i myself used to do without even understanding why I did it and you have showed me how I can use that to increasing my learning abilities. Especially the mind dive and Dopamine priming (not to the fullest extent though), I used to do that with random topics but not always with studying, now I realise what I should have done to do it better in a way that it actually works
ОтветитьEducation was always an addictive substance and tools people pick up not some horse shit either id rather not even inckude myself in sucb garbage psychology teaching that are so second hand from my religion its not even funny addiction cleaning with robot window cleans and vaccums ya like? - willy 0
ОтветитьHow can this be applied to subjects like math?
ОтветитьAs a writer, I just put my characters in situations I am supposed to learn about. An example for this is when I was learning french, I just wrote about some Alternative Universe where one of my characters travels to France and where they learn about the culture. This helps especially to remember slangs and cultural differences. Every time I learned something, I made my character learn it too. I did this in multiple languages where I each had another character for every language!
This method was very much inspired by your videos, and I am so grateful for your channel!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼
where did you go to school elementary to college did give you dopamine or epinephrine to speed you up
Ответитьyou should examine NLP neuro linguistic programming a type or psychology
ОтветитьI have no curiousity about medicine even though I was a registered nurse for 10 years
Ответитьyou talk so fast you make my head spin I can no more keep up with you than I can fly
Ответитьcrg
ОтветитьYou are making the process of comprehension interesting wow love it
ОтветитьThis channel is making me think if I should take college classes
ОтветитьThis is amazing one of my best friend told me about Selma Blair as to inspire me since I live with an auditory processing disorder and other health issues seeing the way to learn or remember information is so interesting thank you
ОтветитьI'm so intrigued by your Singular Deep Dive tactic.💡I can't wait to try it!
ОтветитьBut this whole process will take lots of time and most of the time we’ll have multiple difficult concepts in multiple subjects, how do we manage those?
ОтветитьThe combination of your experiences and research always make your videos interesting and holistic. It makes you more credible!
ОтветитьThe best method I have seen to approach any topic
Hats off to your content 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love this video. I also do understand the underlying principles. Though I would like if someone explained how they like to study Maths. The thing with maths is- its like a puzzle. And humans naturally like puzzles. I mean I like playing chess without any extrinsic motivation whatsoever. But somehow with maths, it a little bit trickier. Maybe I am forcing too hard to study something. The better option would be to switch chapters or topics.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьThanks for this, It will help me study math and physics
ОтветитьThx. U so much ❤!!!
ОтветитьI never comment...but omg 🤯 thankyou !!!! im in my 2nd yr nursing and struggling , im dyslexic and sure im adhd too...my short term memory is shocking but this is just an genius idea 💡 and made me feel a little more motivated !!! ive always struggled academically, and im so unorganised to!!! great video!! 😊
ОтветитьI feel like i needed to know this, being a dumb person with multiple learning disabilities and adhd. You might have just saved my life with this❤
ОтветитьPlease, tell me how to learn pathology, I can understand all other subs, but It's not like I dont understand pathology its more like I can not follow Robbins. My college curriculum follows robbins. I have tried to find other books on pathology but the pathogenesis are totally different there. I find pharmacology and microbiology both very interesting. I just can not figure out Robbins.
ОтветитьThis is brilliant!
ОтветитьOmg…..son of a gun this is clever as heck and I could see how this would have been useful when I was going for business
ОтветитьNever seen someone explaining how to learn in such an analytical way except you, Elizabeth. This gave me hope :)))
ОтветитьYou are amazing woman :)
ОтветитьYour tips are really amazing
ОтветитьYeah
ОтветитьI put how to learn if you dumb and the title of the video made me smile I'm trying
ОтветитьDaughter of Kate Winslet, stop distracting me! I need to focus on the information being provided in this video
Ответить1. Context Broadening
• real life world=more exciting
• make yourself curious+emotionally invested in the topic
• google about the topic, find an article/something/someone that you can identify/connect this topic with (eg. celebrity with multiple sclerosis)
2. Dopamine Priming
• benefits of learning it/why is it so important?/causes of not learning it
3. Singular Deep Dive
• overviews
• what's one thing that stood out to me the most as i read the article I've googled?
• why? why? why? (curiousity jumping) find very specific things to learn. let your questions pop up and answer all of them (self teaching yourself)
• study whatever you feel like studying
4. Challenge Sandwich
• find what is relevant for your exams: find questions related to the topic
• connect the process of learning things + the process of answering them (very effective way of studying): as you answer the questions you're referring back to google/textbooks
• allows you to recall things that you've just learned
• connect these questions with point #1
5. Getting Broody
• familiarity is not skill
• do spaced repetition (eg. actively recall it as you're doing daily routines)
6. False Deadlines
• "I will learn this topic for 2 hours."
this is so much useful information!! thank you for this well-made video, Elizabeth!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪💪
ОтветитьThis is basically how I teach myself things too! 🩶🤍💜
