ОтветитьWhat an interesting day!
ОтветитьSo lovely to see Commonwealth soldiers being represented here! Be interested to know how many there are which countries they are representing❤❤!!
ОтветитьOh yes and well done John on reaching 90K and the blue tick
ОтветитьIs the fluffy horse Vulcan?
ОтветитьAs always John, a great video. It's obvious that the soldiers respect you and know you're professional. Have loved this chat.
ОтветитьSorry folks, rant incoming:
I think if people had more understanding of history, the roles the military play in our societies, and of course actually had respect for the military, then the white lines and signs to not touch horses wouldn't be necessary. But as people don't know history, don't understand or respect where their privileges come from, they don't respect military, they don't feel the need to obey rules or behave in a civilised manner if they are unsure of the rules or don't know the purpose of the guards. But I may have a biased view being of a certain age and having three uncles and both Grandfather's in the military. One in the Aussie Navy in WW2 and my English Grandfather in WW2 in the Army as an engineer at Monte Cassino and Africa, injured during combat and told to get back out there. Yes I am definitely biased😂
Hi John excellent video loved the chats, especially with the retired Trooper, thank you 😊
ОтветитьExcellent video, was especially impressed with the chat with the ex Trooper. Really interesting to get his perspective on then and now. Never fail to give us all a good hour or so, thanks again John and thank the ex Trooper for being so kind as to speak and be so informative.
ОтветитьI really enjoyed all of your conversations with everyone ❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьYour channel is always information im learnin about london ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьThank you for talking to the retirement life guard it was interesting and the other guy 😊
ОтветитьGreat interviews today John tfs..
ОтветитьIf the movement of the Gateman was to revert to how the Trooper explained, then all that would be needed would be a circle or box painted on the cobbles in the courtyard. That in itself would still be problematic due to the Hugh numbers of tourists on any given day. Thankyou Trooper Walker for sharing with us and John about your time at Horse Guards. Cheers.
ОтветитьThe horse liked being stroked now they get mauled. Respect for the troopers
ОтветитьVery interesting to hear the story of the retired trooper
ОтветитьLove this interview. Thanks and I appreciate their service from Virginia, USA
ОтветитьVery informative interview!
ОтветитьEnjoyed your conversation with that retired lifeguard trooper. I have nothing but great respect for this entire regiment.Thank all if you for your service. My late husband was 101 first airborne in Vietnam .
ОтветитьWhat a fascinating video today, John!!!! I really enjoyed the conversation with the retired Lifeguard. What a gentleman and so interesting to talk to. Then another conversation with an "Auditor!" Then another conversation with what seemed to be an old friend. It was so nice to get a different perspective from a retired Lifeguard.
I do love your channel. Keep up the great work.
Such a fun and interesting video today. You're a really good interviewer.
ОтветитьSuch a excellent video really enjoyed it. Thank you John.
ОтветитьJohn it is now -4 degrees Celsius in Coney Island Brooklyn,New York City,NY.

To the Veterans~Thank you for your service.
I loved the conversations you had with everyone, great information, thanks John and those you talked to 😊
ОтветитьVery much enjoyed the Ex Life Guards input about how things used to be and the chat with the Auditor. As always very entertaining John. Cheers from California.
ОтветитьYou’re obviously very respected John by having the ex trooper approach you for interesting conversation — a real education
ОтветитьHello John from Australia 24/1/2025 - I agree with your friend times change and everything needs to be adapted to manage the changes as they are now, he gave us all a great insight into how things have had to change. Thank you John.
ОтветитьHow did horse guard go from not known to being a tour attraction. It can't all be social media
ОтветитьJohn after you talked to the retired COH and you went to the horse guard on the right side. There was a sweet lady who thanked the guard and nodded to her which was so nice of him! Made my heart happy.
ОтветитьYou mentioned the fluffy horse. Reminded me that I wanted to ask why the clip some of the horses in winter… burrrrr
ОтветитьI must say John, This was extremely interesting and enlightening. Your questions to your friend the retired Life Guard really shows the changes that have had to be made because of the number of tourists. The auditor that you talked to was interesting too. Before they painted the white lines, I really felt bad for the horses being mauled by everyone. How could you be sure that what was being offered to the horses to eat was good for them. I guess trust is a lot lower these days, than back in the 1950s and 1960s when I was a child. We used to go off all afternoon up to the woods to play, our parents never worried about us. With no watches we always arrived home in time for tea time. Thank you for your interesting recordings. Ronnie in Saskatchewan
ОтветитьFor those asking, "What is an auditor?", the reality is that they're simply people calling themselves that with their focus being to simply record media content and perhaps, in some cases, provoke reactions for content. It's a self imposed term they place on themselves. If you google the National Protective Security Authority for the UK, then enter "auditors" into their search box, you'll get the link on which to click taking you to their explanatory document, explaining the concerns, etc., and information for government employees on how to deal with them when they try to provoke reactions from the employees. This guy, wearing a body camera, and then covering his face when he realised he was on camera is, to me, obviously hoping the police will approach him so he can create content.
ОтветитьIt has been very interesting to hear from people who have experienced doing the job that we enjoy watching from places such as Australia where we don’t have this type of activity 🐨😊
ОтветитьI thoroughly enjoyed listening to the retired Lifeguard and his experience
ОтветитьGood morning! Early chilly morning here in New York, and watching as I get ready for work...great interviews! You're so genuine and that's why you're loved from so many! Have a nice day! 🥰
ОтветитьThank you for another fab video and thank you to the ex life guard for his service.
On another note John, do you know you can buy little heated pads to put in gloves and shoes... I think Boots sell them
What a lovely retired trooper to share what it was like for him 20 years ago! Thank you to him for his service and generosity!
ОтветитьThank you John, a fun day. I’m glad you’re back, and that you enjoyed your holiday. Really enjoyed the chat with the retired CoH! The chat with the auditor had you explaining some interesting information on how YT works. One question about that, though….what IS an auditor? Or more accurately, what does an auditor do? I’m from Canada, and if we have them here, maybe they work under a different title.
ОтветитьWhat’s an auditor please?
ОтветитьUnfortunately you cannot differentiate between those people who respect the horses etc, so you have to err on the side of safety. You can’t take it back when the horse is injured, abused, or harmed. Disrespect is widespread now and the military being subjected to it is no different. Thats life I’m afraid.😢
Thank you for your service.
Thankyou for answering johns questions nice to know the changes .much respect sir thankyou for your service
ОтветитьLoved the conversations excellent ,good job john
ОтветитьI finally joined john
ОтветитьReally enjoyed your discussion. Thank you for sharing! So much respect for you and your time in service. ❤
ОтветитьJohn what is it an auditor please thankyou
ОтветитьAs someone who has only watched your videos from California since the boxes were painted, whenever an older video pops up and the people are touching the horses it makes me feel very nervous for the horses. I am one who would LOVE to love on the horses, however, I do respect that they are working and not there for my pleasure. Sir Paul McCartney said once, “Too Many People”! I think the changes are good. RESPECT. 🇬🇧
ОтветитьThis was amazing I really enjoyed hearing about this Veterans days as a Trooper. I think if he had talked to someone he could have gotten a tour by someone in charge. Thanks John for talking to him, I think he enjoyed telling his story about how it used to be.
ОтветитьMany thanks for all your kind words and comments. I was the Ex Life Guard that spoke to John. I have known John for a few years we bump into each other every now and then when I’m in Whitehall. Was not expecting John to ask me all the questions on camera but I did my best to answer everything John asked me about my time and career in the HCAV. I did 22 years and left as a COH. Thanks again John always good to see you. Keep up the amazing work you do.
