The Rocketeer - Flight Fail

I’ve always wondered since this movie came out how he never burned his butt.

Don’t know why but the mafia guy just munching popcorn before Eddie smacks it out of his hands is hilarious to me. “Get in the car.” RIP Paul Sorvino.

I sought out and watched this film back in the 90's because I loved the game 'Rocket Ranger' on the Commodore Amiga. I'm sure a lot of other people also had the same reason.
FYI Rocket Ranger was released in 1988 and this film was released in 1991.

I love how the one mobster goon is just eating popcorn and thinking how cool what he's watching is. At least until his boss notices and is unsurprisingly unamused with his subordinates actions. Top it off, the goons walking back to the car clearly has any "Aww man.." vibe.

How is it that his butt has not got caught on fire yet?🤔

I remember watching this as a kid. Now I’m like now did his legs never catch on fire 🔥

Horner's music made this an Epic. Without the music, it would have been just Fantastic.

I love how they were eating the popcorn.

It would be cool to actually have a rocket 🚀 pack you could fly with without wings.

I just wonder how he couldn’t catch his pants on fire 🔥 with the flame from the rocket 🚀 pack.

Its tooo funny

The scientist-person in this film looks suspiciously like Alberto Einstein. Wild white hair, dark mustache, kindly expression, etc.

I can’t begin to imagine what Peevee must have felt “piloting” that truck.

At 13 seconds, that is my favorite part in the movie, where Cliff gets to fly peacefully for a few moments as he adjusts on how to use the rocket while flying through the heavens. The music beautifully sets the tone for that moment 👍

The only one that rivals this is his score from, Krull.

Such a good movie.

The Mandalorian references the scene where Cliff salutes the passengers. A big Mando salutes our silver space cowboy as he flys away, only unlike Cliff he isn't as clumsy.

What’s crazy is “Jan” from The Office (US), is the singer at the Sea Side Club. Blew my mind when I saw her singing. It made me wonder if she was singing about Hunter in the song lol

I love just how much you hear him freak out while he's trying (and failing) to control his rocket powered flight.

this movie must be the biggest underrated gem EVER. got destroyed by the critic, and yet 30 years later i still can't watching without getting goosebumps or a grin from ear to ear.
do yourself a favor, WATCH IT TODAY IF YOU HAVEN'T YET.

There is a new rocketerr called kit sekort in disney jr. And i even LOVE kits flying its even like the original rocketeers flying and iys supposed to be rocketeer 2 its cool. And i love this scene its kinda like kit sekorts flying.

60th comment. Decades later a similar first flight and rough landing with a cover would happen with Cliff's son Ambrose and his great granddaughter Kit when she became the next Rocketeer after saving her father and Cliff's grandson Dave during an airshow.
