This might be a stupid question, but isn’t it part of that joint’s job to absorb shock from walking and general activity? What happens after fusion, does that cause other issues elsewhere?

To those of you who have had this surgery did they PIN BOTH SIDES? or just one side? I’ve been told that the surgery is more successful when both sides are done?? I had one side done 10 years ago, 👁 can’t sit in a chair, 👁can’t drive the car for more than 45 minutescan’t be on my feet for more than an hour and now I’m told that L5 S1 L4-5 are garbage and need to be fused along with three and four that’s already fused😖
IM TOLD BY THREE surgeons to LIVE WITH IT, as looong as I can because once I have FOUR IN A ROW fused.....then my troubles will really begin😢 if I live long enough I’ll be fused from ass to skull...........🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣❤️🇺🇸

The pain when in labor and about to give birth was so bad in back of hip I wanted to die literally. It was all in left him my problem hip my right is strong and not one ounce of pain. I screamed so loud and cried it freaked all the medical staff out. I knew it might kill me before I went in cause I already had been suffering 4 years. This stupid gym insisted I have natural birth but in t he end it got so bad they rushed me for emergency c section. I kept screaming my left hip was breaking someone pls help me. All my family was crying and asking wth was going on that it wasn’t natural what was happening. I wasn’t diagnosed with a hip problem but told her something was wrong with my hip. I was gonna sue that B for putting me through that I was so traumatized after. The pain is so bad in this si and greater trochanter I don’t know how much longer I can live like this. Oh and a few other Drs came in and put his hand behind my hip and told my gyn. “It feels as though her hip is dislocating.” And that’s when the bitcg rushed me for emergency csection after 35 hrs of hell on me and my baby. Still 15 years later and 100 Drs later not diagnosed but hope to be soon with these new Drs. 🙏🏼

I don't understand why you would fuse a SI joint. The joint is needed for movement of the body, and the load of the body passes through the SI joint. Although the amount of movement in the SI joint in minimal, that movement is very important for the person to be able to walk, jog, and do other things requiring motion. Thus the SI joint is not just important for women that are pregnant, but for everyone who walks on two legs, and that is almost the entire human race.

This is a HORRIBLE and barbaric surgery. The si joint needs to move for you to walk correctly and your spine to align. Don't do it!!! It's my biggest regret in life. These "doctors" have no understanding of biomechanics. It's like getting your hip fused. Any doctor that performs this surgery without VERY careful consideration and extensive testing is reckless and negligent.

you don't fuse joints!!! believe me I've had this procedure. it resulted in a hip labral tear, sij pain on opposite side and piriformis pain/sciatica on operated side.
The pelvis needs to move!!! Do not get this surgery unless you have a constant high level of pain and you know it's coming from the Sij. Get a second opinion.
This surgery can lead to a host of new problems. Strongly advise against it.

I had this done and I was much better for about two years. Now I struggle to lift my leg. I need to have an mri scan but because I have the ifuse implants I'm have been told that I can't have a scan because not enough research has been done on the ifuse implants and they don't know if it is safe to go in the scanner. Has anyone had an mri scan?

Has Anyone had this? Very interested in hearing some results or testimonies. I suffer from Chronic (20 plus years) of right side SI instability.
I was also wondering -- How do you get the SI joint or Sacrum in the anatomical correct position prior to or during surgery when one has been out for years?
