So wonderful. Haven't seen this for awhile. My first virtual choir back in the day. Amazing. How in the world do they sing together and be time zones apart.

Harrison, this collaborative virtual choir and orchestra performance which you spearheaded is unforgettable. The singers and musicians are all outstanding. And let's give props to the geniuses who created this masterpiece from Broadway. Richard Rodgers' melody is soaring and unforgettable and Oscar Hammerstein's lyrics are inspired poetry. They created a timeless ballad that has uplifted generations of audiences.

Very touching song to me growing up

Very few positives emerged from the pandemic, but this was one of them, for me anyway. A wonderful production. Must have been amazing to take part.

When my husband and I were "going together" more than 60 years ago, this was a popular song. It's still one of my favorites because I "never walk alone".

I keep replaying this. It’s so stirring! Brings hopeful tears each time I hear it! And a little nostalgia for what seem to this aged American like the glory days of American musical theatre.

＜the Background of the Gosho＞ (Nichiren Dai-Shonin's Writings or the letters to his followers, and priest disciples)

Nichiren left Kamakura and went to live in a small dwelling in the wilderness of Mount Minobu in 1274. (Because he gave up to persuade Kamakura Government Warrior Officials to abandon erroneous teachings like Zen, Nembutsu, or "True Words" Buddhist sects and to take a faith in the Lotus Sutra.)

From this time, his disciples, centering around Nikko Shohin (the leading priest disicple whom Nichiren gave the biggest trust) , took the leadership in propagation activities (koren-rufu).


The priest disciple named Sammi-bo, who was noted for his eloquence and learning Buddhism appears in this Gosho.😖😣😩
He was for a while active in helping spread the Dai-shonin's teachings. (He was energetic in kosen-rufu activity just for a while.)　But because of his arrogance, he forsook his faith and died in a tragic way.（The concrete truth was not written in Gosho.）

The Dai-shonin states that Shakyamuni's teachings no longer lead to enlightenment in the Latter Day of the Law. (末法に於て、釈迦仏法では、成仏はもはや叶わないことを説いた）

and that only Nam-myoho-renge-kyo combines the 3 elements of teaching, practice and proof essential to making Buddhism viable.

此の文（もん、経文）は、煩悩即菩提 生死即涅槃と説かれたり　（煩悩の苦しみが悟りに変わり、生死（しょうじ）の苦しみが涅槃（六道輪廻から解放された、最高の安楽の境地）に変わると説かれた、法華経の経文）

This passage states that earthly desires are (turn into) enlightenment, and that the sufferings of birth and death are nirvana (the supreme life-status with tranquility, by being emancipated from the sufferings of life and death) .

法華の行者は貪欲（とんよく、欲深さ）は貪欲のまま しんに（瞋り、いかり）はしんにのまま ぐちはぐちのまま普賢菩薩の行法なりと心得可きなり
For the votaries of the Lotus Sutra, greed is greed, and remains just as it is, anger is anger and remains just it is, foolish is foolish and remains just as it is.
And yet they are carrying out Bodhisattva Universal Worthy (very wise Bodhisattva) 's practice of the Law. One should understand that clearly.
(You can be honest before Gohonzon and pray, keeping the honest feelings. Then, your life (heart) will be purified and enlightened to Buddhahood and enjoy tranquility.)

一切経の中に法華経第一なり、譬えば諸経は大河・中河・小河等の如し法華経は大海の如し等と説くなり
The Lotus Sutra stands foremost. Thus these other sutras ( all pre-Lotus Sutras) are analogous to the larger rivers, middle-sized rivers, and small rivers, while the Lotus Sutra is likened to the great oceans.

此の法華経には十の徳有り諸経には十の失（とが）有り
The Lotus Sutra likewise has 10 virtues, while the other sutras have 10 faults.

此の経は漸次深多（ぜんじじんた）にして五十展転(てんでん）なり　（この経は、だんだん深く豊かになっていく功徳があり、５０人目の人が聞いても、功徳はある）
In the case of this sutra, the benefits gained from it increase in depth and bounty, and they continue down to the 50th person who hear of it.

河は深けれども大海の浅きには及ばず
Though rivers may be deep, their depth cannot match even the shallow places of the ocean.

(諸経は) 未だ一字一句の随喜五十展転には及ばざるなり（ほかの経典の功徳は、法華経の功徳の話を聞いた５０人目の人が一字一句でも聞いて喜ぶ功徳には及ばない）
・・・such benefits (of the various other sutras) cannot match those gained by the 50th person who hears a single character or a single phrase of the Lotus Sutra and responds with joy.

法華経に背く謗法の者は極善の人為（な）りと雖（いえど）も猶（なお）之（これ）を捨つ　（法華経誹謗（謗法）の者は、どんなに善人であっても、法華経に捨てられる）
those who slander the Law by turning against the Lotus Sutra will be cast out by the sutra, even though in other respects they may be people of extreme goodness. 🤮🥵🥶🤢

何（いか）に況や（いわんや）悪人なる上・謗法為さん者をや
And how much more so will this be true in the case of evil persons who, in addition to their other evil acts, slaner the Law! 😰😡😠🤬😈
