The Mandalorian: Season 3... Why It Sucks

Holy shit it really was lizzo? I knew it was jack black but I was only making fun of her by saying she's lizzo.

Bad batch did everything the mandalorian did but way better while still doing its thing, mando can't hold a candle to it(not lettong the stray slide XD)

I honestly don't know why people didn't like season 3. I thought The Convert episode was waaay too long but other than that I loved it. It was nice to see Bo Katan take charge & follow in her sister's footsteps & lead Mandalore back on the right track.

In my opinion, this is just another case of people wanting to tear stuff down & people with ADHD getting tired of something as they're prone to do. I won't go near The Force Awakens trilogy but I've watched & enjoyed all the Disney+ series. Have they been perfect? No, but nothing is.

This is exactly why I’ll never watch this show after season 1 I gave up! Grogu was the biggest disappointment of this entire show, HE ADDS NOTHING AND I HATE HIM TBH ONCE LOVED NOW HATED!

I think there's a lot of set up in this season and not a lot of pay off. But people are treating it like it's the end of the series. You don't open a book, read chapter 20 - 30 and critique it cause it's part of a greater whole. People need to chill. Now we know there's a movie this most likely set up for that.

Why would there have to be some big goodbye seen at the end? In this story alone they visit everyone several times. The second season ended with Mando thinking he wouldn’t see Grogu again while here he just decides to live in a planet away from the Mandalorians. The only goodbye scene needed was for Paz and his kid. He ignores orders for his kid and that should’ve been the case in the end with him doing it mainly for his kid or asking for them to look after his kid.

Book of Bobba Fett literally destroyed my favourite character. Luke is a pathetic weakling in the newer trilogy movies. Star Wars is dead and the amount of money they are losing is totally deserved. Now obviously I want women/girls to like it but making it all women and shitting on are old favourites is so disgusting. How many shows and movies do women have geared towards them? Come on ladies lets fuck that up for them.

Grogu adds the kid element they need to capitalize on the younger audience, and for those moments when you need to throw a character in harms way for the "epic" battle. Sure, they could have made them complete mercenaries but the executives that fund these things like the family connection premise.
Personally I think Star Wars needs to loose all of it's cannon and just use those wonderful set designers and artists and do a story completely not related to cannon at all, how about a whole new galaxy to explore, rather than tediously trying to tie every story together so it all fits.

I have to add that this season takes more or less everything that worked out and put everything that didn´t worked in this season.

I never watched the animation shows because I´m generally not interested in animated shows as spin offs. Most of the time I don´t like the style of the "drawing", it´s much more made for children and they usually go over the top when it comes to action - in a dumb way.

So to see characters from these shows mean nothing to me. You are right, The Mandalorian shouldn´t have all this ballast from earlier properties. But ok, some characters like Ashoka in the one chapter worked for me.

WHAT they could have done in season three - be brave.
Let Bo Katan be bad, let her be the villian of the third season. Let her take Grogu hostage, by uniting with some angry Mandalorians to fight and trick Luke to get the kid. Ever saw an angry dad?
Maybe that´s against Bo Katans character people know from former shows, I don´t know, but I think there is a good case, watching only the Mandalorian, that some might say, Katan is an egoistic power hungry one dimensional character, who only cares about her own goals and not about others.

I don´t think that the first two seasons were perfect. I don´t like the main villain. I don´t like the concept around the dark saber. I don´t like some characters, because they were played by bad or lame actors. But I still love these seasons. For me, most of the times they are on par with the original trilogy. They have this kind of charme which seems so easy to create while being so rare to achieve.

Season 3 of Mandalorian was terrible and made the Mandos look like complete idiots for living on a planet next to a lake that is inhabited by space alligators and have kids abducted by flying lizard birds on a daily basis.

Also the New Republic is shown to be just as bad as the Empire and Mando is save countless times by Bo Katan.

This season is just another example of how bad Disney is handling Star Wars.

And I doubt that we will ever see the Rey movie, since Disney have announced many projects that then never happened and Rey is by no means a popular character.

I have no faith in Star Wars under Disney, since I got burned a few too many times (with the Sequel trilogy, Boba Fett, Kenobi, Mando season 3 and Ashoka).

My biggest gripe is Sabine I guess gave up on Mandalore completely despite her being the last representative of clan Wren. Yeah yeah her character is being pooped on currently but we didn’t know that during Mando S3…

Am I crazy or is it partial Bo's fault that they lost Mandalore? She destabilised her sister's rule, got her killed and had the planet conquered by Maul. Why would anyone follow her?

Something that seemed so obvious which is crazy they didn’t do is Moff Gideon being defeated by the mythosaur symbolically being rejected and defeated by the mandalorian culture

It’s so weird how they handled the children of the watch it seemed pretty obvious to me that they were criticizing this stance and that mando is a better person without those practices. But then they go back on that? It’s good that mando is back in the fold of the people who held back his emotional development and it’s aspirational to have that sort of belief

This season is so bad it makes me never want to watch any future mando seasons

By FAR my biggest problem with this season was that I did not like Boka Tan. She's stubborn, egotistical and annoying when she's on screen. And the worst part? She never had character growth. Instead of finally accepting that the darksaber doesn't belong to her or something along those lines, perhaps a character arc or something, she just gets her ego fulfilled and is just as boring as she was prior.

I would have rather seen the darksaber lost, broken, stolen, or destroyed prior to her finally obtaining it. It would bring more clarity and relatability to her character, rather than the "oh she beat the thing that jumped me while I was off-guard".
Just imagine her chasing the darksaber after it had fallen off a cliff, or desperately scrambling to repair it - some kind of struggle would have been far more compelling and entertaining.

I'm just gonna say as cool as the darksaber is I much prefer the helm of mandalore being a symbol of leadership rather than a jedi weapon. Yes it was made by a mandalorian jedi, but it just feels wrong. It isn't a weapon based in their culture. Yeah, a lightsaber is cooler than a helmet, but what that helmet means is so cool especially if you have played kotor 2 or read kotor themed comics. It has more cultural significance especially when you consider how the mandalorians in this show put so much emphasis on keeping their helmets on. Idk the darksaber just feels like fan service, and as signature weapon for Djinn I much preferred the beskar spear or his rifle. We don't get to see someone fight with a spear that often, especially in star wars, so having that just made him feel unique, but this is star wars and every main protagonist has to have a lightsaber(yeah i know there shows/movies that dont do this, but it is definitely not the majority).
